I stayed in the hotel on 8 December for one night with my wife, 3 years old son and 2 months infant daughter. Upon check-in we received an upgrade and a welcome drinks voucher being a Platinum member of Accor. I informed the reception that I would like to have a late check-out up to 2 PM because I will be outside at other part of the city for a meeting and might be late in afternoon. The reception agreed to it and told me that Platinum members have free late check-out. I also asked if the hotel honors Accor Ambassadors and the hotel refused that they are a franchise and they do not. The room given to us was Room 54 and it was good and hot as per the weather condition, 0 degrees outside. The beds were comfortable.||||After check-in and leaving the luggage in the room, I came to the lobby and I was working on my laptop when my wife informed me by phone that the bathroom was having a bad smell and the shower area had a problem, the water does not drain. I checked it and came back to the reception. The manager herself was available at reception and I informed her about the issue. She said she will get it checked. I went back to the lobby to work on my laptop. Despite complaining, the issue was not solved neither we were given any feedback.||||Next day I could not take a shower before going to work because there was plenty of water from the previous day. I tried to fix the drainage by myself but the water was taking a lot of time to drain. I left the hotel for the meeting. Around 11:45 AM my wife called me and said that the hotel wants her to check-out. I told her that I will send an email to the reception, if they come again tell them that I sent them an email and if they insist, come to the lobby with the luggage but it was difficult for her to come out with the luggage and the infant at same time. My wife had a health issue and it was not possible for her. I did not had local German calls allowed on roaming. I only had an internet SIM for EU. I excused the Deputy GM of the company I had a meeting with and sent the hotel an email. The Deputy GM asked me if there is a problem and I explained her that the hotel wants my wife to check-out now and being a Platinum member the late check-out is possible and I already had it discussed yesterday. She offered me to talk with the hotel directly using her mobile. She dialed the number and phone was on speaker. The phone was answered by the manager herself. I was told by the hotel that the hotel is fully booked but they lied, I checked later and several rooms of all categories were available including the one I stayed. I made a reservation for the same category of the room I am staying in just to show them that they lied and that the hotel is not fully booked. Reservation was late canceled as cancelation was free until 6:00 PM. I returned to the hotel as soon as I can and we checked-in to another Accor hotel. We are staying in Accor hotels since a long time and we never had such issues.||||In short the said hotel is not caring and the upper management lie to guests. If there is a problem it will...
Read moreI’ve just returned from a short stay at the Ibis hotel which was booked for my husbands birthday celebration. The hotel was very quick to respond to my messages and were very helpful in letting me know which bus from the airport to catch. We caught bus number 171 from outside terminal A and got off at Grenzallee and then walked over the road , turned left and then the hotel was on the first road on the right clearly signed. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were pleasant and very helpful in helping us make the most of our stay. My only disappointments were the rooms were meant to be soundproof but whoever was above our room at midnight could be heard walking around on the non carpeted floor, which was of no fault of their own but it was loud enough to wake me up from my sleep. We tried the breakfast one morning and granted we did arrive towards the latter part of the morning but there was no bacon left, only some scrambled egg which didn’t look appetising. My waffle and fruit salad were lovely but definitely not worth the 12 euros I paid. We found a lovely cafe a short walk away on the main road where you could get a couissant and a coffee for less than 3 euros which was much more reasonable. The hotel is some distance from the city centre but very close to an underground train stop which you can access the city easily on so it wasn’t an issue. Overall the hotel was convenient, reasonable and comfortable and met everything we required for our stay and we would definitely...
Read moreStaff were polite and helpful except one in the 2 nights stay. we arrived before checking in time, they could only keep our suitcase and not check us in even though they knew we were coming from abroad and obviously tired. The room was hot++++evening and at night, no air conditioning system but ceiling fan which hardly reach the small bed in the room. ( 3 friends). Asked at the reception for extra fan but the answer was NO. Was told by the desk staff that hotels don't have a AC in Germany which I found ridiculous !!! We went out for the function we came to Germany for at 9am couldn't make breakfast ( not the hotel problem) returned around 8pm and our room was left the same way , no cleaning , the bin was overflowing as we have left it.( before you start asking question or judging we did not request that the room should be left uncleaned). Walked down to reception to lodge complaint and the lady couldn't say why it wasn't cleaned but offered to empty the bin and gave us fresh towels. There is no kettle or tea cups in this hotel. you have to come down to reception to either request hot water or buy tea or coffee. The view from our room 14 is the cemetery ( can you imagine) and a pipe was passed through the room and it was uncomfortable near the small single bed. Do I find any positive in this hotel yes the lift is working , the reception area looks modern, there is TV and you could get English speaking channel. Wi fi is appalling Coming...
