Radisson Blu Hotel, Cottbus — Hotel in Cottbus - Chóśebuz

3 months ago I booked this hotel. I then rang from Spain the reception and explained that my wife is in wheelchair and cannot walk anymore. No problem sir I will reserve for you room for handicapped people. If needed also a wheelchair could be provided. We special came to Cottbus and this hotel to celebrate our birthdays and that of one of our best friend. Radisson hotels we know from earlier years but from different locations in Germany. This is the good news. Bad yeah very bad news is. Very small room and bathroom ( sized 1.7x1.7 mtr. And shower corner with high step of 70cm square. I complained to deception and was told by mistake the special room for handicapped people had been given to another person's. Only ONE room like this in whole hotel. Then our celebration. BISTRO was a big laugh. Just some tables and food came from the kitchen. We ordered for 4 person's but meals came only for 3. Apology from waiter. College had given 4 order to other table. After 20 minutes still no meal and I tesred if my meal was still warm. Little warm yes but they have used all the salt available in the kitchen. Could really not eat it. Told waiter and answer was I MUST TELL HOW MUCH SALT I WANTED!!!!. SO I TOLD YOU CAN TAKE IT BACK. After again half hour waiter did ask unkindly if my wife , the forth party, still wants her food. The answer why not earlier was. We have been very busy. Bottom line is. They spoiled very much our nice planned bistro dinner on our birthdays. And as for the room. This hotel is not even good enough to name themselves a HOSTEL. Mr. A.B. Marbella. Spain . Never go there again and on checkout reception informed me sorry to hear. This Radisson is not the Radisson I had expected. I would say, it is a complete downfall. From my point of view, this is a complete mediocre hotel service.

I travel a lot and stayed in tons of hotels with different service qualities. I have lived in very cheap hotels as well. Even those cheap hotels outstandard the services of Radisson Blu in Cottbus.

All together - a total disappointment.

Downsides:

Comfort-cost ratio is really really really low. I can not emphasise this point enough. I would rather recommend Lindner. Lindner is far too close to the center as well.

Old & dark rooms.

All the furnishing, bathroom amenities are from the stone age.

I don't think cleanliness is their top priority. (That is my perspective, I did not feel the hotel clean)

There was a fridge in the room, which was not working and smelled bad.

Pillows are old and not comfortable at all.

Mattresses are cheap as hell.

No phone charging point at the bedside. There is actually only one that I found in the whole room.

In bathroom, soap cases are broken.

WC flush is from the stone age as well and takes hours to fill up the water for a second flush.

Bathroom amenities are dirty.

I was in the business class rooms, I supposed to have room shoes, I asked the reception, they said, they don't have any. I felt like, they actually never have those room shoes at all.

Poor wifi connection. The internet is so poor that you can not even browse a simple photo in Safari.

Upsides:

NEVER AGAIN !!! The room and the location was really nice BUT the staff not so professional . At the check in I was told a price for the parking at check out I had a more expensive parking ticket to pay ,I payed wanted to get out my ticket was not working ,backed up went in the hotel ( cause NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE) got another parking ticket , went again in front to go out of the parking lot AGAIN THE TICKET WAS NOT VALID ASKING ME TO PAY EVEN MORE NOW ,this time I had a line of cars behind me waiting and I was stuck not able to get out of the car( I went out thru passenger side) or the parking lot ,I called AGAIN NO ANSWER over the phone or THE EMERGENCY button ...went there AGAIN to ask for a valid ticket this time ..I don't understand how hard can it be for the staff to give a valid ticket or to NOT TRY to trick customers into paying more or at least do you RECEPTION JOB AND ANSWER THE PHONE , the room was not cheap either for 1 night .
