I cannot understand how a hotel can fail on so many brand standards? This stay was a total Desaster and staff does not seem to care. The Doubletree by Hilton Frankfurt-Niederrad is not worth to carry the Doubletree brand name. It‘s below Hilton standard in my opinion. The franchisee seems to save every penny, does not care about the customer and rooms are advertised false. Had two stays there and second stay was even worse.
Check-In Gated parking space is defunct and not gated. (in opposite of its description on website) No Doubletree Cookie at Check-In. Even not upon request. At both stays. Staff always finds new excuses. Diamond Bottle of Water was forgotten, had to remind the check-in person. At both stays.
Room (Queen Deluxe) A/C not working (in opposite of its description on website, front desk denied it first, than acknowledged but had no fans, just mobile heaters) Water in shower does drain off slowly so room is flooded No hot water in sink (how does this fit into Hilton‘s Clean Stay promise? Killing bacteria with cold water? Hope that the kitchen has at least hot water for food processing.) Hot water in shower only after several minutes letting the water stream (how does this fit into Hilton‘s green sustainability concept?) No bathrobe (in opposite of its description on website) No slippers (in opposite of its description on website) No Espresso machine (in opposite of its description on website) No Ergonomic desk chair (in opposite of its description on website) Safe too small for laptop, just for small tablets Lots of TV channels do not work No trash bin in room Housekeeping forgot to leave toilet paper after cleaning
Staff During my first stay I witnessed staff arguing in front of me and being rude to each other. Complaining about other guests. Also when trying to tip a person from F&B on room charge this person refused to accept the tip. She claimed that the owner takes all tips for himself and does not pay out to employees. No lunch boxes option (instead of breakfast) which is a regular option at German hotels F&B Staff made fun about people who use an app to buy food leftovers from breakfast buffet.
The description on the page is false. In my opinion there is absolutely no respect for guests and the functionality of the hotel is reduced to the minimum (no a/c, no hot water).
Location is bad in the middle of an industrial area in the middle of nowhere in Frankfurt. Not recommended for tourists.
This hotel is not worth to carry the name DoubleTree. Never again. gave them two chances and they missed the mark more than clearly everytime. Even the cheapest Room Rate in Frankfurt does not make up for such...
Read moreWe stayed 7 nights at this Doubletree hotel in Frankfurt, Germany 🇩🇪. This hotel is within walking distance to the Deutsche Bank Park Stadium, which is why we chose this hotel. We walked to and from the concert ( about a 40 minute walk). The hotel is very modern with a lot of attractive LED lighting creating a fun atmosphere. The rooms are pretty good size and beds are comfortable. The shower is transparent and situated in the main room with a separate bathroom. Rooms have refrigerators. Breakfast is quite good with a lot of items to choose from. When we checked in, MANUEL was on duty. He was honest and upfront about the Air Conditioning not currently working in rooms. This was not welcome news, since the weather was warm. He gave us a free drink coupon for the bar, which was appreciated. He also gave us a room on the North Side. The rooms have very large windows with a side window that only opens a small amount- which prevents a good breeze from the outside once night comes and it cools down. The A/C was not operational in the rooms for our entire stay. There are really nice fans in the rooms that do a good job of cooling. The other issue the hotel currently has is that only one of the two elevators is working. At times, this causes a long queue. The staff are very nice, and especially EVS ( MUKHTAR & HAMID) and Breakfast ( JULIA And NICO). VANESSA at the bar was also great. If the air conditioning was working, I would rate a 5. If your planned stay will be during hot weather, you may want to call ahead and see if the A/C is fixed. The Reception and Dining Areas do have A/C. I would also recommend requesting a room facing the North ( only about...
Read moreA Hot Mess at DoubleTree: Great Reception, But AC Woes Persist
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree hotel, and while many aspects of my stay were commendable, the experience was significantly marred by a terrible issue with the air conditioning.
The hotel's location is fantastic, and the staff at the reception was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Check-in was a breeze, and the professionalism of the staff made me feel right at home. They were attentive and responsive to my concerns.
However, the one critical flaw that overshadowed my entire stay was the oppressive heat in the room. Despite my best efforts to adjust the thermostat and even after being moved to another room, the air conditioning system seemed incapable of cooling the room adequately. It felt like a sauna in there, and it made for an incredibly uncomfortable night's sleep.
While I wanted to enjoy all the positive aspects of the DoubleTree, the incredible reception was sadly offset by the persistent AC issues. Even after changing rooms, the problem persisted, and it was clear that this was a systemic issue within the hotel.
I hope that the management promptly addresses this problem, as it severely impacts the overall guest experience. Until this issue is resolved, I would caution potential guests to consider their stay carefully, especially during warm weather. The excellent reception staff can only do so much to compensate for a sleepless night in...
