Mercure Hotel Luedenscheid — Hotel in Lüdenscheid

Stayed here for 5 nights. Breakfast the first 2 mornings was great, fresh bread buns, a lot of choice but the last 3 days it was way less great, especially when you go there a little later (an hour before closing). Quite a lot of choice for cheese and meat for the bread. No croissants of normal bread though. Rooms are pretty basic, with a balcony which has no chairs or table. No airconditioning so the balcony and the doors made it a bit better temperature wise. Bed was good. Bathroom was small but a lovely shower and big sink. No minibar or fridge. The carpet was gross, had big stains on it. The window on the inside was also really dirty. With COVID there was no housekeeping during the stay so we had to go down every time to get clean towels. After a while we ran out of tissues and toilet paper and shower gel. No bathroom necessities other than the basic big bottle of shampoo/shower gel. Tea and coffee in the room. No tourist information. We are staying in the Mercure Lüdenscheid since 2009, once annually. Ambience and services were pleasant. We were pretty happy.

27.08. 2021- we arrivved today. At the moment we are here in this hotel. But sad to find our room isn't so clean, in bathroom for 2 one hand and one bath towel, pillows are too soft, the blankets are falsely placed (room service is not very professional), the carpets are really dirty with a lot of flakes (see Fotos). One person at the reception was friendly but too much for her to handle too many guests who arrived. -We booked for 2 N/3D. Our room is not cleaned or made on the next day, neither the tea-Coffeee area was refilled. But we paid for each night. It is not a good service. -As we entered, it is not the same warm welcoming hotel. Rooms have only the bare minimum. Disappointing. We are still one night here. Let's hope our stay will be without more dissatisfaction

Except the bar, rest of the facilities are way too average. Dirty carpets and window panes, broken wall Will welcome you. Elevators are superslow. Mostly occupied by the business crowds. Didn't like the breakfast buffets as it was monotonous. Staff at the front desk are mostly cool and polite towards non Europeans. The bartender was a genuinely good guy. You have to ask for room cleaning by a day advance. Also, be prepared to arrange food if you are landing on Sunday. Nothing, I repeat Nothing is there nearby. Only one food delivery app which will make you feel like stoneage. Plus they are severely understaffed. But they are near the city park. So you can have nice walking trails. Overall an...
