Giving one star for location (though it was hard to get to with road closures, etc.), but parking is extremely limited and when we parked where reception told us to, we ended up with a parking ticket. Regarding the hotel itself, I don’t know what was worse: the service or the very dated room. Arrived at the hotel and was helped by front desk staff. For some reason, only half of them were wearing masks. Really?! Masks are required (as they should be) for all guests, but not employees? I asked the woman if I could get a room on a higher floor, if possible, and she said the room was on floor 2 of 5, but that I’d been upgraded to a Superior Room and it was overlooking the garden. Excited, we went up to the assigned room (265) and found that we had absolutely NOT been upgraded, but in fact was downgraded from our selected room type (1 queen bed) to 2 small beds that overlooked the parking lot and neighbors' windows. I went back downstairs to ask what happened and at least try to get the room I’d booked, but was ignored while I stood there for 15 minutes. I gave up and returned to the room to at least try to get some sleep. Alas, it was not meant to be. Upon getting into bed, I was literally STABBED in the knee by a shard of metal that was lying loose in the bed! (See attached.) How had this happened?! A shard of metal?! Blood literally pouring down my leg, I hobbled to the bathroom and nearly stepped on a nearly identical shard of metal laying on the floor. What could cause this?! Was the last resident of this room the victim of a frag grenade? After patching myself up and carefully searching the bed for any other lurking dangers, I settled down to finally sleep. Or, rather, I tried to. The pillows on this bed were like water in a ziploc bag. I have never had so little luck attempting to get a pillow to maintain some semblance of structural integrity. Even with three pillows, I only managed to get my head about 1cm off the mattress. Needless to say, once I eventually slept, I slept poorly. The next morning, I decided I should speak to someone about the room, have breakfast, and leave. I wanted to speak to someone because I know mistakes can happen and I believe in allowing a company to address any issues before making a final judgement. So, I head downstairs to speak with the front desk. Once again, only half of the people are wearing masks. I proceed to tell the new woman behind the desk, Vivian, the same story as above. Her response was essentially: You have no proof you were told you’d been upgraded, you didn’t get the room you want because Coronavirus makes planning hard, and we’re worried about cleaning for germs, not providing nice rooms. I assume the last part was meant to be related to them NOT cleaning for dangerous metal bits? So, if I don’t get the virus, you’ve succeeded, even if I literally walk away bleeding? At that point I was utterly dejected, so I walked away to have the breakfast they required me to preorder in detail the night before. I am seated at the restaurant and awaiting my food when a woman gestures and points me to...what?!??! A buffet?! Seriously? I took the time to fill out an item-by-item breakfast order, and they offer a buffet when many people aren't wearing masks. At this time when even McDonald’s is requiring hand sanitation, partitions, distancing, and waiting outside, I’m supposed to eat a fully unprotected buffet? I got up and left. I will never be returning to a Raddison again.

We stayed one night. The hotel is located in Merseburg, an ancient city situated on the Saale River and within a short drive from Halle and Leipzig. Partly covered parking may be available behind the hotel at EUR 13/night, however spaces are limited and we were lucky to get one of the last remaining spaces. ||We chose the hotel based on a previous stay in 2021. Unfortunately no Business Class Room was available this time, so we opted for a Junior Suite, which turned out to be situated in a separate wing.||Our room was spacious with a separate sitting area, comfy beds and a large bathroom. The separate wing was connected to the main building by a stairway, making it necessary to carry our rather heavy baggage up and down to get it to and from our room, not very pleasant.||We visited on a sunny and warm day in August and although our room was large and nice it had no air con (available in Business Class Rooms). Even though a fan was available and windows could be opened our room was uncomfortably warm.||Breakfast was included in our rate and was good with a number of hot and cold items. We visited on a busy morning and our experience as a whole was not as quiet and relaxing as we had expected, partly due to a less successful organization of the...

We stayed two nights on a road trip to Germany. The hotel is located near the Castle Gardens in the town of Merseburg. The Castle Gardens are close to the River Saale and the centre of the old town with the cathedral is within walking distance.||||Covid 19 regulations were handled very well and as you would expect from a Radisson Hotel. Our room was a spacious Business Class Room on the top floor with a number of nice facilities, such as a safe, coffee and tea facilities, and A/C. We even had a private roof terrace with a nice view of the town, and Leipzig and Halle in the horizon. Everything was very clean and in perfect order.||||Breakfast in the Restaurant Belle Epoque was included in our rate and was very nice with several choices of both hot and cold items of high quality.||||The hotel is connected to a private (paid) parking lot with direct access to the hotel.||||Excellent service throughout the entire facility, and we would definitely...
