I recently had the pleasure of staying at the fabulous Hotel Marissa Resort and I am thrilled to share my wonderful experience! The cleanliness of the accommodation was impeccable, providing a fresh and welcoming atmosphere right from the start. The spaciousness of the lodging was a delightful surprise, ensuring a comfortable stay for me and my family.
The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped with all the essential utensils, making it easy to prepare meals just like at home. Additionally, having parking right next to the house was incredibly convenient.
The location of House 291 deserves a special mention. It's well connected and strategically placed away from the main road, which meant less traffic noise and a peaceful environment. The nearby Pizza TakeAway served up some delicious pizzas, which were a hit with my family. Adding a salad option for takeout would be a lovely touch!
For outdoor enthusiasts, the climbing garden provided hours of fun, and the proximity to Lykkeland was an added bonus for some family adventure. The staff at the resort were always friendly and helpful, enhancing our overall experience.
The beach area was another highlight, clean with a section of shallow water that was ideal for the kids. Conveniently located toilets and the overall child-friendly atmosphere of the resort made our beach days worry-free. The inclusion of a 3-hour swim in the pool was a treat, with restrictions on entry numbers ensuring it wasn't overcrowded. The toddler area was perfectly warm and inviting.
While there were a few minor issues such as noise up until midnight and the need for synthetic pillows for allergy sufferers, these did not significantly detract from the splendor of our stay. Although the standing water in the pool area and the pricing at the snack stand could be revisited, these aspects were minor compared to the myriad of positives.
Overall, our stay at Hotel Marissa Resort was filled with joy and comfort, making it a memorable getaway for our family. The thoughtful amenities and friendly service truly made us feel at home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a family-friendly...
Read moreI will break this down into two parts (vacation house & the restaurants). If the restaurant situation were better then I would give them 5 stars. They are still building and it is not finished yet, but it was great for us. We did not hear any building noises.
Vacation House: There is not a thing to complain about here. It was clean, modern and super in every way. We really loved it. The reception staff was super friendly and the key handover went fast (but be prepared to wait in line if you show up at 16:00) . The internet has been “policy treated” so that only certain internet traffic works well, but most people need to go offline anyway. Our house was fairly central to the park so we did not have far to go to the lake or restaurants. They are building new ones further back to the main road and I think that is a little too far away from the main activities, but maybe they will change that as they build.
Resort Restaurants: There are currently two and I can only hope that they are planning on more. It is hard to get a table and depending on who you talk to you need to reserve. The food and drinks are great, but the wait staff organization is severely lacking. My advice to anyone going here is to reserve way in advance (weeks). People were turned away a lot. Like I said… Food is top, Service is Flop. (One exception was a really friendly Spanish waiter in the Beachmar Restaurant.
With that being said there are many restaurants available in the area (if you are willing to walk 2km) or drive. There is a decent Italian Resturant (Al Lago) down the road, or if you are willing to drive 10-15 mins, a good greek restaurant (Aichans Taverne).
We recommend this place. I am curious to see what it will be like when it is...
Read moreGenerally the place we've stayed is a great villa, but several things made us really decide that we would never come back
Practices are feeling very scummy. On check in, I was told towels weren't included, and that it's 10€ per package per person. Bed linens are the same. Extra costs.
We had late check in so we had to pick up these packs ourselves. For towels? Okay why not. But since we had to also pick up bed linens, we had to make our own beds on arrival at 1am...
The villa lacks basic elements. Soap is inexistent, dish soap is a micro bottle worth for 2 cleaning at best, and they don't furnish a sponge.
But they make you understand that if you don't clean your dish and all, you'll be charged. Sure, but then provide the tools to clean?
Not to mention nowhere in the booking process did I get any info on cleaning fee which appeared to be 270€. For 270€, I get charged if I don't empty the dishwasher after having it running?
This place's service is a joke. I get that it's holidays home, but surely it felt more of a hassle to manage and accommodate to their rules and extra costs than really relaxing.
What am I even paying 450€/night at this point?
Basically we paid close to 1000€ for two nights, and then on arrival got charged 480€ extra as a surprise at the desk. They make it purposefully hard to see those extra costs before booking. It doesn't even appear in my emails. You have to dig their FAQ section and search for "cleaning" to find it.
We will...
