Hotel Senator-Marina — Hotel in Wedel

Hi, I stayed here on the 26th July 2017. |I found the hotel parking very good and easy, the hotel itself sits just up the road from a lovely walk down to a self made harbour with a couple of cafes. Very nice 2 minute walk on a warm evening. The hotel was clean and the staff were happy and Pleasant. I didn't eat dinner in the restaurant because it wasn't very busy, so I checked out the local area and found a restaurant called porter House, wow if you like steak then please go there it was lovely food and friendly staff and only a 4 minute drive away. The hotel doesn't have a bar but you can take beer or wine from a fridge and write your room number down. There is a little gym on site could do with updating, but if it's not used that much then they won't. If you want to do a lite workout then you can. |The room was a bit basic for me, it was clean. Wedel is a small town at the river Elbe and about 1/2 by S-Bahn from Hamburg. The Senator Marina is a relative simple but nice hotel, one block from the river Elbe. The beer from the minibar is only € 2! (Feb 2016). Bar closes at 22.00 hour and then it is self service (you have to put your consumptions on a list). The hotel really thrust the guests! The hotel has a large parking and if travelling by car, this hotel could be a good alternative for a hotel in Hamburg. The rooms are simple but clean and ok. Funny but if you ask for a single room, you get a double bed (at least I got it) and then they put 1 pillow and 1 blanket on the bed. Looks strange! I booked directly and my colleague booked through a hotelsite. It turned out that my room was 30% less expensive then the same room of my colleague. So it seems better to book directly at the hotel. I stayed at the Senator Marina Hotel, Wedel, for one night in March 2017 during a business trip. The hotel was very quiet, just a handful of guests. A substantial breakfast was still laid on, staff at reception Andre the breakfast room were very helpful and friendly, entry after 10pm was via a locked rear door, key provided and there was an "honesty bar" in the breakfast room for this time. Write down which drinks you had taken and pay next morning - refreshingly friendly...!!! Rooms are very clean, as is the hotel as a whole.
