Oceanic Resort — Hotel in Accra

I booked their top of the range room, the Premium Deluxe Double Room. My wife and I wanted a place closer to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital so that we could avoid heavy traffic while visiting my sick mother on admission. When we entered the room, we noticed that the room was in the form of a chamber and hall. There were three air conditioners and only one was running but blowing hot air. The other two were not working. The rooms were dirty with a lot of dirt everywhere. The bathroom was poorly lit, the heater was not working, and the shower was in a bad condition, also very dirty. We reported to the front desk, and the room was changed but to a much lower level than what we paid for. This room was worse than the first. There was air-conditioning on, but we were sweating profusely. We were given another room after complaining again. This room is midway between the first and the second rooms. This room was a bit cleaner than the previous two, but like the first two, air conditioning was bad and can not be controlled with the remote in all three rooms. The television has only one channel functioning. For the huge prices quoted, the only thing that works is the location, even though the access to the balcony for the rooms facing the sea, where you can see the sea directly, is locked. The whole place stink inside and out. Trash is being burnt near the resort. The room smell like moth balls. Our room was dirty and we needed to have it cleaned. I ordered a club sandwich from the restaurant. On the menu, it looks as if large pieces of chicken. Was on the club sandwich. The sandwich that they brought to me was minced chicken. As if it was a chicken salad sandwich. They overcharge for food and they don't have anything on the menu. The neighborhood people are allowed to swim in the pool. Most of them didn’t look clean and the children had all kinds of trash in the pool! They put so much trash in the swimming pool that my husband had to requests for the pool to be claimed before we entered it, and I still did not want my kids to get in. My family felt uncomfortable getting in with all that trash floating around in the pool. By the way I'm black too (no racism intended). The cleaning crew misplay some things in the bathroom. We we informed the management of our missing things. He informed us that he would inquire about the missing items. The cleaning crews started acting really nasty towards us amd two days later immigration was called on us. They came to the hotel about seven o'clock in the morning asking to see our passports and visas. This is a trashy hotel, in a trash neighborhood, with a trashy beach, trashy food, and trashy workers. The lure of the ocean view was what led us here and it was big mistake!||The slab of concrete and ambience of this hotel was depressing.||We booked the equivalent of a suite which had a bathtub with the shower fixed in such a way that you needed to kneel to use it! Bathroom =1/5||WiFi- Several complicated access points and still no internet connection.Called reception and maintenance guy shows up 3 hrs later perplexed and unsuccessful at solving the issue. Connectivity=0/5||Bed- NOT king or queen size and uncomfortable. We had a weight-bearing beam/pillar smack in the middle of the room blocking the TV. 0/5||Balcony- The biggest joke, bland... no sit out, flooded with water from the air-conditioner, water leaks also from the 2nd floor.||We eventually went to the poolside to have lunch and the food was great..... we thought at least this was one great thing... waiter serves us and one hour later we can’t find him to pay our bills or place more orders.||This was meant to be a relaxing getaway... we’ve been stressed,unhappy and certainly UNRELAXED.||Over all...
