I was at Miklin Hotel about two weeks ago and would love to share my mixed experience. I arrived there late afternoon and checked in. Had a warm shower and took a nap. Couple of minutes later the smell in the room got very offensive. I woke up and went to the washroom and I was completely disappointed. There had been a back flow if sewage waste through the toilet pot and flooded the washroom. It seemed to have been a general fault with the whole block. The cleaners came in to tidy up the rooms so we had to be transfered to Marbon hotel, about five minute drive from Miklin Hotel. Had to spend a night at Marbon, check out and recheck in at Miklin Hotel. It was a hell of an experience. Now let's talk about the swimming pool issues. I was in the pool with couple of my colleagues when one security guard came to tell us to retire our swimming session cuz it's past 6pm, meanwhile it'd been written at the changing area the "swim after 6pm at your own risk". We exchanged few words and the argument heated up to eventually we had to retire our swimming session. So with this experience I think I will rate miklin hotel a 3 🌟 🌟 🌟. Looking forward to a better experience next...
Read moreI've stayed at a few hotels in Ghana, this bar far is my least favorite and the only one I will not return to. The hotel is old. Every thing in it is old. I like the power conservation method they use but it's not practical. The electricity in the room is activated by your key. Once you enter you put the key in the slot and it activates the power. This means that if you have something in the fridge it will only keep if you stay in the room. I knew I couldn't put food in there but the small things like putting water in the fridge and coming back to drink an ice cold water were impossible. Forget coming in and taking a hot shower. You have to turn the water heater on 25-20 prior and with no power to the room once you're gone...The tub in the room was an old plastic tub that was cracked and split. There are a myriad of other small things wrong, but know it's not a hotel you want to return to. I was there with a group and most of us flat out did not like it. The hotel staff though...
Read more2 day stay with a large group, as part of a 2 week stay in Ghana. Older hotel that has not been updated in decades. Negatives: No king size beds, no directions on how to turn the hot water on for the shower, no iron in the rooms, but the guy did a great job at ironing our clothing at the last minute for reasonable prices. Lastly Terrible dining room experience-poor and limited breakfast selections. Had to ask for basic stuff like cutlery, a cup, hot water, only instant coffee, food bar not readily restored. Servers in the restaurant needed training, they were surly. At dinner the first night the table cloth was dirty and had rice and food particles, I asked the waiter for a clean tablecloth, so he removed the old one but never came back. The pool is in the courtyard, and surrounded by vendors even at 7 am. Lastly, there are no do not disturb signs or no housekeeping signs. Even though we spoke to the front desk and requested no housekeeping, when we returned, they had...
