I booked a room over the phone in early June 2017 for a stay in early July 2017. The reservation was confirmed in June. I then called again two days before I was scheduled to arrive to re-confirm that they still had my reservation (this is Africa after all) and was told that everything was sorted and they were awaiting my arrival. Traveling in from Accra (a 3.5 hour trip via Ford van), I arrived and was told they did not have my reservation and that I had never made one. However, all of the phone numbers they have listed on their contact information are cell phone numbers for the management and staff. I was able to show them my call history to these numbers for both June and July (reservation and re-confirmation) but they denied having spoken to me and blamed me for showing up even though they "told me they were full two days ago" when they clearly told me they had my reservation and all was good. Why would someone go 3.5 hours without a room reservation?? Use your heads.

The kicker is that a lady who shared the Ford van with me also tried to check in and was told they did not have her reservation either... some minutes later they told her they would try to sort it out since she was booked into the dormitory room. During this time, another traveler came and told them that her phone had been stolen from the lunch table she was at... seems like many things go "missing" at Oasis Beach.

I was not offered reimbursement for my travel to/from Cape Coast from Accra (I was forced to return to Accra as this was a weekend trip and I now had no place to stay). The only offer they gave me was to put me in a taxi to a random guest house (Sam's Place - it's not online or on TripAdvisor...

Nice beach location, lovely rooms, with great bed & shower but service and communication not great and overall disappointed when it comes to value for money. It presents itself as a nice boutique sort of hotel and has all the vibes, look & feel and location. However I did specifically ask for a quiet room! Turns out it was a major festival weekend, with a ton of noise almost 24/7 (seriously it stopped at 4AM, started again at 8AM), from outside the hotel, but also inside the hotel, DJ’s and live bands. I felt as if my bed was standing in the middle of a dance floor in a club. They cannot change the festival, but I really do not understand why, they did not tell me there were no quiet rooms during the time I was booking because of the festivities!!!

On top, one day housekeeping never showed up, and had to go ask for toilet paper, the next day the forgot to put a sheet on the bed. The bed is really good though!! And there is a nice shower with hot water, rooms are clean.

The food is okay, but had much better in Ghana (especially breakfast, no fresh fruit is just disappointing).

Don’t be fooled by the free access to the spa, as there isn’t really a spa, access to what… a room where they do treatments ??

The one morning g when it was quiet, when you could hear the ocean it was wonderful. So could be it was really just the wrong weekend for me to be here and that’s why it’s not meeting my expectations, but that could totally have been avoided if they had...

SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for a mediocre Family Chalet with mediocre little breakfast and above all, the price is NOT the price that was shown online when we booked. A few weeks prior to arrival, the family suite was advertised on their own website as 3000GHS per night. I changed our original booking (2 Panoramic Suites for 3000ghs each) to the family suite but did not get any proforma invoice for the change in booking. They used this to their advantage and charged us 6000ghs for one night when we checked in (my brother paid and I only checked the payment slip after). I confronted them and they had ZERO answers and no apology, just empty faces, even from the manager. Three days later I checked the price again online, the same family room is online for the rest of the year for 3000GHS per night! I called again to ask why I had been charged double the standard price and was told "oh madam now we have 50% discount". Its a rip off to charge double than what the room rate is on the website, it can happen to anyone and they will not give your money back, DONT GO THERE! For 600usd in other beach hotels (e.g tills hotel) at least you get your own villa with pool or lou moon a villa with infinity pool overlooking the ocean for the same price! This little chalet is located next to the TOILET and is not even by the beach....

I can't give more than one star cause everytime we left our room we saw this poor dog chained to a tree. For me, it was heartbreaking to watch. We spent two nights and she was never let off, someone just put food and water next to her. On our last day we found out that there is a second dog used as a guard dog, also tied up and unable to move more than his 2 or 3meter Radius. We've been to many places in Ghana and everyone lets their dog walk freely so I don't understand why it can't be the case at oasis. We left earlier cause we didn't want to support this animal abuse. Please if you decide to stay there, give the dogs some love. They are incredibly friendly and in desperate need of love. In the beginning Laika ( that's what we named her, although apparently her name is Cherie according to the oasis Instagram) was shy but after two nights that we mostly spent next to her she was so happy to be around us and even tried to follow us. At night she was howling and it was difficult for us to sleep knowing there are dogs suffering right in front of us. I saw a review from 2012 that already mentioned the guard dogs so apparently that's something that the resort has been doing for a long time.I hope that one day they will let the dogs go or at least take them for some walks.

Quite a quirky kind of place, with huts as well as buildings, and accommodation ranges from small minimalistic rooms with bunked beds (Inc dorms for 10 people) and a small sink but nothing else, to en suite facilities and AC. I opted for more creature comforts and had a hut with AC and en suite facilities. If you don't have en suite then toilets and shower cubicles are in a communal open area. Make sure the toilet flushes before you use it! You may need to ask them for towels. The best bit of the resort is the restaurant where they give good service and has a more than adequate menu. The place is clearly very popular with tourists and I can see why. The cost is reasonable, especially if you share a dormitory with 9 others (they are mixed dorms), and the fact that it is right on the sand of the beach is a big pull. Its nice to be able to hear the sea, and if you choose a hut with en suite facilities you may get a personal hammock right outside. In all, there are many positives and can be attractive especially to young people. But I guess I would prefer something a little more refined and traditional. Nothing wrong with it though, it's down to personal taste.
