Firstly, I cannot thank the manager Jerry enough for making this a very enjoyable Holiday. (2 weeks) Also the Ghanians, were very well manered and the children do not bother you. Wi fi is 5GHC per hour.(get 4G signal here)At time of post GHC to GBP is 7.5. |The rooms were clean and the beds large and comfortable. The shower is cool as no running hot water, but it is refreshing after sitting in 33 degrees of heat. You can have a bucket of hot water on request. Rooms get cleaned every 3-4 days which is fine as hardly in them , There is no TV or kettle, but there is a fridge. Coffee is only 5 GHC available from 6am. Aircon was good, but no remote available to adjust the temperature. So take pyjamas to take the cool air off you. No Sun lotion in village so take plenty. Take pads and pencils etc to give to the schools, worth it to see the smiles on there faces. Take lots of GHC best rate is at the airport. No cash machines or credit cards in the village. Takoradi an hour away is the nearest place and 150 GHC return taxi. Beer is 8 GHC and large bottles with 1.3 pints in it, so you need to ask for an Ice bucket Wine was 30GHC a bottle. Breakfast is 10-20 GHC, evening meal 16-30GHC £30 is for the fresh fish and excellently cooked by Jerry.Take a shaving mirror.|The Kangaroo bar next door on the beach is only place with sunbeds. 10GHC a day.|The staff of Francis, Soloman, Claudia and Deborah were also friendly and helpfull.|Definately back...
Read moreI stayed here during asa baako and it was a last minute booking where I was told I’d have a double bed from the person booking. When I turned up I was on a bunk bed with a “student mattress” (which I have never heard of Before but it is smaller than a single mattress) that was placed into a single bunk bed frame - very jarring. The shower room was uncomfortable for me.. the shower dribbles water and it is cold. The food was also very expensive for what it was so I’d advise getting food on the street right outside. I wouldn’t personally stay here again in the same conditions but if they got hot water and I booked my own room I could do. I almost forgot I was in room 23 and there was a church service on both Sunday morning from 6am and Monday from 7am they are VERY LOUD and disturbing for me personally. The staff were lovely though and it’s so close to the beach which made it all...
Read moreBy far the best service I experienced in my 4 weeks in Ghana was at Arena Beach Lodge. I began eating in the delightful thatched roof restaurant because they created delicious vegan meals for me, and then moved into the hotel to one of their very reasonably priced air-conditioned rooms.||||The room, while basic, was clean, airy and had a fridge. It is a family run hotel and I cannot thank Mimi, Samantha and Jerron enough for making my stay in Busua enjoyable and very special. Nothing was too much trouble.||||Although the hotel is not directly on the beachfront it is only a short walk away. It is an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of...
