Just got back from a fortnights stay here, and very much enjoyed it. The apartment was great - fairly basic furnishings but comfortable beds and everything was clean and all working with sufficient crockery, pots and pans etc to be self catering. The aircon in the bedrooms was a lifesaver as it was very hot and humid. The apartments are in a really fantastic location - a short walk down to the lovely beach (its a steep walk back up though, so we were lazy sometimes and drove down!) and with amazing views over the sea and countryside. The nearby village of spartia is small but has a couple of decent small markets and a good taverna. We also tried the taverna just down the road from the apartment a couple of times and had good meals there. Dimitros and his wife are really lovely people, genuinely helpful and welcoming. There was the best welcome pack I've ever seen with all sorts of fruit, bread, cheese, cake, milk, wine, olive oil, and a hot cooked meal ready in the oven for our arrival. Sheets and towels were changed every 3 or 4 days and the apartment was also cleaned then. The owners were round and about fairly regularly and very friendly and happy to give ideas on places to visit etc We also got a couple of other little gifts left throughout our stay which was a very nice gesture. I would be very happy to return here in the future and would recommend it to others. Also worth using the car hire company based in Spartia run by George (recommended to us by the owners) - he met us at the airport with the car and again on the return, and the price he gave us for 2 weeks hire was very reasonable with no nasty surprises of extra insurance costs or huge deposits as I've experienced from more mainstream hire companies in the past few years - the price he quoted us was exactly...
Read moreWe have just returned from 11 days in this beautiful location. We were initially met at the airport by George who owns the car hire business in Spartia and he drove us out to Nerissa Apartments in our hire car. On arrival Dimitris was there to greet us and show us our apartment (no.1) where there was an extremely generous welcome pack and dinner heating in the oven. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we spent time each day sitting on the terrace enjoying the view of the sea and the surroundings. This is a very peaceful location but within easy reach of two sandy beaches and several tavernas, our favourite being Losalos which was only a few minutes walk from the house. Spartia has two mini markets although there are a number of supermarkets on the way to Argostoli which has plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from as well as the opportunity to watch the sea turtles from the water front. Nerissa apartments provided an ideal base to travel around the island and visit the many beautiful places that Kefalonia has to offer. We would thoroughly recommend both staying here as Dimitris and his wife Eleni were such wonderful hosts as well as hiring a car from George (GSR rent a car). We hope to return in the not too...
Read moreWe returned yesterday from two weeks in Nerissa Apartments having enjoyed the most comfortable and relaxing holiday. The apartment is in a quiet but convenient location, with great views, a beautiful garden and generous patio with plenty of outdoor furniture. The apartment itself is very large, with two spacious bedrooms both with air-con, one with a super-king sized bed with a top quality mattress, high thread count sheets and more good quality pillows than we knew what to do with! There is a decent fan oven with 4 halogen rings, large fridge freezer with ice-packs, and use of a shared washing machine with detergent provided. Everything is well maintained and was cleaned regularly throughout our stay. The spread of food we received on arrival was second to none (chicken and potato casserole, organic wine, organic olive oil, bread, milk, a very large cake, tomatoes, a melon, grapes, apples, peaches, nectarines, pears...) Dimitri and Eleni were perfect hosts, I really can’t recommend their place highly enough. Can’t wait to...
