Eleana Studios — Hotel in Lefkada Municipality

First things first, I want to give credit to the people here for their hospitality and willingness to help in every situation. However, there’s a significant reason for my one-star review.

This was my second time visiting this place. The first time was in 2018, and I booked through Booking.com. At that time, I received a message on WhatsApp from Giorgio, who offered to cancel my Booking.com reservation and pay in cash to save some money. As this was my first experience like this, I decided to keep my booking and everything went fine. In fact, I extended my stay by three days and paid in cash without any issues.

Fast forward to August 2024, having known Giorgio already, I reached out to him directly to ask for a room. We agreed on a price for 10 days, with an arrival set for August 28th at 23:00. All seemed well until we got delayed due to a road accident on our way to Greece, causing us to arrive at 03:30 on August 29th.

Everything was going smoothly until two days before the end of our stay, I was told we needed to leave on Saturday. I had assumed we would leave early Sunday morning to complete the full 10 days. But to my surprise, on Saturday at 12:18, Giorgio informed us we had to check out.

I was genuinely shocked. I tried to resolve the situation with Giorgio, but he insisted that if we wanted to stay an extra day, we’d have to pay 50 euros. I declined, reminding him that we had agreed to arrive at 23:00 and that I should be allowed to stay until the same time on the 10th day. Giorgio refused and said the day starts at 12:00, not when we agreed or when we actually arrived. He demanded either 50 euros or for us to leave.

What bothered me even more was that, just minutes earlier, paying 50 euros would’ve extended our stay, but now Giorgio claimed the room was needed for other guests. There were clearly available rooms, and if you check Booking.com, there’s almost always availability.

I refused to pay the extra fee and began packing. In the meantime, I called the police to explain the situation. They came to the studio, and I provided them with all the details and filed a claim.

Had Giorgio informed me that arriving at 23:00 would mean I’d lose 12 hours of my stay, I would have made different arrangements. However, I was never made aware of this, nor did I agree to such terms.

While I don’t know what action will be taken, I cannot tolerate such dishonest behavior.

As for the place itself, the rooms are clean, and the bed linens and towels are changed every 3-4 days. The only complaints I have are the stiff beds and slow WiFi.

Moreover, I paid 550 euros in cash and didn’t receive any receipt, meaning no taxes were paid on this transaction.

It's unfortunate because the location and hospitality were good, but I’ll never return due to this experience.

A warning to future customers: make sure you agree on every detail regarding the timing of your stay with the host, especially the exact check-in and check-out times. Confirm that your stay is fully within the hours agreed to avoid any unpleasant surprises or...

Bellissima struttura,immersa nel verde, curatissima. Stanze estremamente pulite e spaziose con aria condizionata, balcone e bagno privato. Proprietari gentilissimi e molto disponibili durante tutta la durata della nostra permanenza, ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. La struttura è a due passi dallo splendido lungomare di Agios Ioannis e a pochi minuti dal centro di Lefkada (dove c'è la maggior parte della vita notturna dell'isola). È inoltre posizionata in un punto strategico che consente di visitare, senza allontanarsi eccessivamente, le più famose spiagge dell'isola. Consigliata sia per coppie che per famiglie, se state cercando una struttura per visitare Lefkada è la migliore opzione! Prezzi molto competitivi rispetto alle altre strutture vicine...super consigliato! Ci torneremo...

Excellent position on the island,quiet and peaceful.Parking for the car in the yard.Town is close and the first beach is close too.The owners are very good people and they helped with everything.Recommended for families...
