I am writing this, as I find that my experience has been so out of sync with the others on this site. By far, the best thing about this hotel is its location in the centre of town and hence the one star. ||||However, being aware of this, I booked a room directly with hotel a couple of months in advance, as I wanted a quiet room - only to be given a room on the first floor directly above the entrance. The road in front of hotel is small, but very noisy. When I requested an alternative room, I was informed the rooms at back of hotel were all booked up. The door to the balcony let air in (the netting would move), with the result that the room was cold and became smoky at night from the wood fires burning around town. ||||Leaving this aside, I was best man at a wedding on New Years Eve, so preparation was important. However, there was no hot water when I entered the shower? As a result, I had to call reception and wait for 30 minutes for water to heat to become lukewarm. I had no choice but to proceed with the shower and ended up arriving for the wedding 15 minutes late, much to the understandable annoyance of the groom.||||So am I in a position to recommend this hotel? My recommendation is to find the nearest alternative and book...
Read moreThe shower in the bathroom had hooks but no shower curtain. We discovered this was the norm for other rooms booked by friends. If you are a non-smoker and/or suffer any allergies to cigarette smoke then avoid the breakfast where smoker guests show no respect by smoking whilst others are eating their meal near to them. Smoking in the hotel seems to be ok with the staff. If you can put up with the smoking, then breakfast is better than average. Rooms ok but very dated. We had no remote for the air conditioning and reported this but no action taken by the staff. Hotel charged my card as a "pre-authorisation" even though I had wanted to pay in cash, which I said when I arrived, so as to avoid double currency exchange penalties (GBP/EURO). I have stayed at the Marpessa Hotel in Agrinio before and found that one to be excellent, although more expensive. In future, I will pay a little extra to get the service and comfort we like to...
Read moreI took a star off because it was a huge inconvenience to stick my husband and I in separate single rooms for the first night then check out at 11 and couldn’t check in until 3 in regular size rooms. The showers are so small making it hard to turn in without getting water all over the floor. The mattresses were hard so we didn’t sleep well. We did not like the toilet paper coming out in single squares right next to your head. And lastly the other star is for the lack of WiFi on the second floor. In the single rooms on the 3rd floor we had way better reception until we were moved to 2nd floor. Made it very difficult to work from the room on business calls. The AC was cold and the balcony is nice. In the single rooms the mini refrigerators are sooo old! They need to invest in their fridge...
