Due to a scheduling issue over our other hotel our tour operator booked us in here. We’d never heard of Dimitsana before and it was our first night of our tour so we’d no idea what it was like.||||Well! If you’re coming to the Peleponnese definitely make a stop in Dimitsana and if you fancy staying on (and you will) definitely stay here!||||Our room was located in a stone tower with panoramic views on three sides of this beautiful village. It was clean, well presented with a very comfortable bed. Shower was good with decent water pressure, nice soaps and shampoos etc.||||Breakfast was MASSIVE! And it just kept coming! Simply the best breakfast we’ve had on our stay and this includes 4 star boutique hotels in Athens. Fresh cakes and breads from the village bakery, literally any cooked food you could ask for set us up for a tough days hike and then some! Simply excellent.||||Special mention has to be reserved for our lovely host who, despite our lack of Greek, always seemed in great spirits, friendly and welcoming.||||Thoroughly...
Read moreDimitsana is a village on the green mountains of Peloponese built on ruins of an older town. Built on a 950m slope, it has a beautiful view of the surounding valleys . The overall look of the buildings reminds of the surroundings of a castle. The citizens are very friendly and hospitable. A beautiful place for those who love nature, trekking, rafting etc. We had the HONOR to stay for three nights at this guest house Kazakos! It is a beautiful stonebuilt house with well equipped and designed rooms with views around and over the village and landscapes. The owners were more than hospitable and willing to make our holidays non forgetable. The quadruple room wich had 4 windows overlooking in three directions. Very spacious with small fridge, safebox, flat tv... it also had dvd player with several dvd movies on the library outside and even some kids movies as well. The breakfast was better than our homes'. It is highly...
Read moreNB: This place refers to itself as Guesthouse Kazakou - apparently the difference in spelling here is a Greek thing.||||Key points: very comfortable and well-appointed rooms with nice view over square; very amiable host and hostess who provided unbelievably lavish and delicious home-made breakfast - warning -either go for a long walk first, or pace yourself, the courses just keep coming.||||Only wrinkle: it is a bit tricky to find. We parked in the car park on the main road (though I guess places hard to find in peak season) then walked up a staircase towards the church with square above the main street. The owners promise a signpost but nothing visible from the road.||||Walking down through the valley is beautiful - we took about 5 hours to walk down to Gortys, then took a cab back (the guesthouse gave us a number): 29 Euros (would have been around 20 if we'd met the cab above...
