Tefthis Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Gortynia

We had a fantastic dining experience at Tefthis Taverna in Dimitsana. The food was absolutely delicious, with everything from the gemista to the zucchini balls being fresh and flavorful. The service was also top-notch, and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

As vegans, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Tefthis Taverna was very accommodating of our dietary restrictions. The staff was knowledgeable about vegan options and offered us several choices that could be easily modified to suit our needs.

We were so impressed with our meal that we were tempted to return the next day, but unfortunately, our hiking schedule didn't allow for it. However, we will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Dimitsana.

We ordered one beef steak and one pork with mustard sauce. We got on pork steak and one chicken with mustard. When we told it to the waiter he said that what we have in our plate is beef steak and pork with mustard (it wasnt, we know how beef looks like and how pork looks like and how chicken looks like…..) we didnt eat the chicken at all because we dont like chicken, and ofcourse the waiter gave us bill and charged us for dished we didnt get....

The only place I have eaten a perfect - executed and sourced - small veal stake (galactos in greek) - mind you it is different in Greece vs. other European countries - a reminiscent of my childhood meals... The sausage is excellent. From the cooked meals, the aubergine-intheoven-with garlic was pure melting joy. To top it all, the hand made potatoes (french fries)...do not expect much wine-wise, but the food was so much that you will hardly...
