Morpheas Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

From the owner, Haris's, friendly & informative welcome to our sad departure after 8 wonderful days, we enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Morpheas Rooms. The rooms are clean, have every facility and the balconies have great views of the sea and surrounding countryside. There are 3 good tavernas nearby but there is no disturbance from them or from the road as the rooms stand well back in their own grounds. It's a real treat to walk straight from the rooms to the sandy beach already in beach attire and there to find a choice of umbrellas/sun loungers (5Ee for 2 loungers and one umbrella). There is a supermarket about 1K away but we would recommend you have a hire car to potter into nearby Paleochora for supplies, ATMs, or to discover the traditional villages hidden away just behind the surrounding hills. had a sea-facing room with balcony, comfortable, clean, and ample space on balcony for breakfast, towel drying, an evening beer as the sun goes down. Just across quiet road from a child-friendly beach, ample non-furniture covered sand. Several restaurants above the extensive beach area, and fun to explore the Grameno area. Easy access to Paleochora (5 minutes by car) from where regular minibus transport to head of Agia Irini and Samaria gorges can be booked. (Return ferry from foot of both gorges terminates in Paleochora, close to minibus pick-up, so convenient for car. While it's possible to walk along the coast to Elafonisi, its a long walk and, unless out of season, will be both hot and disappointing when you reach your destination (vastly over-crowded). This was our second year staying at Morpheas Rooms for our October holiday. We love it here. Being out of Paleochora town, it is very quiet yet only 5 minutes drive away for when we need to resupply or see the sights. The location is perfect, being under 5 minutes walk from the beach and within easy staggering distance of three of the best-rated restaurants in the Paleochora region. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean and equipped with a very wide range of kitchen appliances.
