Choumas — Restaurant in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

My husband and I got the beef with aubergines, rabbit stew (rabbit stifago), olives and stuffed vine leaves. All the items were excellent. We are an American couple who wanted to come and taste authentic Greek food- it was great! Service was not friendly but they were still attentive, just had frownie faces on all the time. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Dessert was a very moist and sweet orange cake with watermelon with the aperitif.

The restaurant is beautiful with nice outdoor seating so you can overlook the beach. There is a easy to walk stone path to the beach as well. And ample parking.

Our plan was to have a late lunch at the restaurant and then go to the nearby beach. The beach is a little more crowded compared to nearby Paleochora but they still have umbrellas, beach chairs, and a WC. I wrote a glowing review of this restaurant on tripadvisor in 2016, when we visited every night. This was our first visit back since then. The 2016 review was about a restaurant doing traditional greek dishes really well. This time they had somehow improved upon that performance. While maintaining the previous performance of doing Greek standards really well, this time there was added value. This is the place to be! We stayed four days in the amazing sea view apartment on the first floor and had a blast. The apartment was nicely renovated and squeaky clean, you will be greeted with views of the sea in the morning and can star gaze in the evenings on one of the spacious terraces.
