Good things: Great view if you get a room on the front of the hotel (we got the back which gave us a view of the hill and the hotel behind us which wasnât great but we still saw the view from the sky bar / walking to our room) Some of the staff are really nice such as the night time receptionist being very polite and two specific waiters who made it feel less lifeless with their company Good distance from the beach (5 min walk) Very peaceful environment throughout most of the day Cleaners were very nice and greeted us very happily every morning when we saw them Now for the negatives Firstly we asked for a late checkout and without even looking the person at reception said no because itâs probably booked for later (even though the hotel was relatively empty at time of stay) Due to not having a late checkout and our hotel package giving us a transfer at 8:50pm we had to use the day and we wanted to use the pool, so we booked a âshower roomâ, for this huge hotel, there were only 2 shower rooms at anytime and so we were very limited on time which caused us to book an early time compared to what wouldâve been ideal (3:00pm, the next available time was around 6). We were 3 minutes late to pick up the key for the room and were stuck behind the queue at reception causing us to get the key at 3:07 and then by the time we got the the room which was the furthest room possible it was 3:13, and for 2 of us we only had 17 minutes in our slot to both shower and make it back to reception. We ended up being at reception at 3:41 making us 11 minutes late and we received the most rude response from reception: âI said 30 minutes not 3 hoursâ while rolling her eyes giving a disrespectful tone, this was accompanied by her colleague and her giving us dirty looks for the rest of the day whenever we walked past reception (we did not catch her name but she normally wears a plat and her colleague was a black man an I hope they get some repercussion for their actions because I cannot believe you could treat a customer with such disrespect. I genuinely feel sorry for the staff that do put In effort and their efforts get hidden by a few staff who make it miserable The same man was at the bar when he told me to show him my wrist when I was waiting for a drink and he grabbed my wrist band to have a look at it (I have autism and wear a band to fiddle with when I get stressed) Iâm not really sure what he was The red sky bar has a beautiful view but it overprices everything, they let me know it wasnât part of ULTRA ALL INCLUSIVE which is insane but due to how cheap the shops nearby were I assumed it would be affordable, I got charged âŹ4.50 for a glass of ice with some orange juice We arrived at midnight on the first night which meant the only things opened were the reception and the bar (drinks only), since we had had no food since leaving England we were quite hungry and the only food they had available were cheese and ham sandwiches and fruit when neither of us ate ham There were so many sun lounges and barely any umbrellas which meant it was a fight to find an umbrella before someone else took it, ontop of that when we got an umbrella it was broken and the wind blew it over onto my partner, (itâs a windy island so they should be prepared for umbrellas to be blown about) The rooms are very outdated, carpet floors with stains, worn our aircon buttons, 1980s looking hair dryer which stank when you turned it on and a very outdated bathroom in general As previously mentioned, despite being on the 6th floor we had a view from 1 floor up on the other side looking at the childâs hotel âaqua landâ behind us giving everyone staying there a direct view into our room The beach bar was very basic and only offered simple drinks with no seating unlike the bar right next to them which was a nice little bar in a wooden building The shop in the hotel is also extremely overpriced, âŹ3 for a bottle of water compared to 80cent if you walked to a nearby supermarket for 1.5L! The lifts were also very clunky...
Read moreThe rooms are dated yes, but I don't want to be in my apartment all day on holiday, it's somewhere to sleep, shower and get changed. It was clean and the beds were comfy, that's all I needed. We had a family suite which was a living room with the sofas turned into two beds and a lockable bedroom with a balcony. Plenty of space for the 4 of us. The showers should be renamed 'Dribbles' but it was fine for 5 nights. The Aircon is turned off on 15th September and it wasn't ridiculously uncomfortable but I think I'd have struggled without my hand fan, so bring one if you can as it's still rather warm if you're used to living in the UK. The machine itself was on but it was just not blowing out cold air, then we read about it being off in the welcome letter.
The food isn't bad at all, there's certainly something for everyone. One of the kids are coeliac and although not everything is labeled, the staff are very helpful and will check. They made fresh GF pancakes every morning for us and on the evening, the chef offered to make what she fancied as not only is she completely GF, she's a teenager who is very fussy. Lunch and dinner also had plenty of choice. Dinner was much better than expected.
We arrived at 10pm and when you are in your room you head out for 'midnight snacks' at 11pm as we had been travelling since 6am UK time the kids were pretty hungry. The offerings does leave you worried about the food as you have a choice of sweaty ham and cheese, a soup and some cheese and ham pasta salad as well as a few stale wrapped baguettes. I was super worried about what the food would be like after this but as above, it was fine. The 'snack bar' is probably one of the two worst things about the hotel. Again stale sandwiches, and some pots of tinned fruit. I would suggest filling up at actual meal times. (Pic of snack fridge I've just taken which is the only time I've actually seen it full so maybe it just doesn't get topped up often)
The entertainment is the second worst part. I hear the animation team are lovely and great with the kids so I'm not dissing that, however the one small 'show' in the evening has much to be improved. Last night was a 'comedy dance show' it was a bit like being a teenager and making up dances in your room, there was probably one funny moment, but the show was weird, I didn't get it. Lots of people left mid show, I didn't as I felt rude and so stayed to the end but it was almost embarrassing. They can do way better if they got a good ents manager with some creativity. There was one decent show which was a Hollywood Diva show and they were pretty good. Seems they paid for an outside act. It's karaoke tonight rather than a show so I'm not sorry to be missing that. They did bingo and a quiz one night, again instead of the show which at least was engaging. But for a family resort, these should be things they're doing as well as a show, as it just feels a bit like a cop out. I'm sure there are people who enjoyed it but this is just my honest opinion. I like to stay out and enjoy as much as I can on an evening on holiday but there was literally nothing going on after 10.30, no disco or music or anything. We would head up to the main bar where there was some music playing in the background. Again may be fine for some but not it's for me. They have such a beautiful amphitheater, it's a shame it's being wasted. The pools are fine, the waterslides could do with some love. They look so much nicer in the brochure (obviously) however the youngest seemed to like it enough. Never had trouble getting 4 loungers together at any time of day but then we aren't in peak season. Towels are âŹ10 deposit each. Bring your own if you can, they're a bit over used and small but served a purpose. The staff are lovely and friendly and will always try to help you. The older guy (Husain) in the bar is a bit like greek victor meldrew and very much enjoyed watching him being grumpy about and to certain guests. Yannis is lovely, up and down he goes all day and is super reliable. Looks like Victor from 'From' the...
Read moreMy daughter and I booked KIPRIOTIS Panorama hotel without even reading the reviews and I am glad I didnât read them in advance. We just looked on gallery photos and our mind was made up! What a different experience we had from some other guests. In one word I would describe our stay as a pure happiness and bliss! From day one to the final morning when we left sunny Kos for UK. We had very warm welcoming upon our arrivals and through our entire stay. ACCOMMODATION Our room although was a little bit dated was spacious, clean, comfortable with beautiful balcony and stunning sea view. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we had great night sleep every single night during our stay. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were always available on a daily bases. The location of hotel is great as it sits back away from the road. It was so quiet and peaceful there!!! We felt very safe and looked after. The Kos town is in a short taxi drive which you can book at the reception desk. THE RESTAURANT It was always an abundance of different kinds of food to satisfy everyoneâs taste buds. The food was fresh, well presented and tasty. The staff at the restaurant was working tirelessly all the time tidying up, replenishing, setting up the tables and working round the guests. It was a great pleasure to see familiar faces every day. The restaurant staff were welcoming, kind and helpful. I miss seeing my Koula with her kind and welcoming smile! The experience in a la carte restaurant was lovely! As always, the staff was welcoming, professional and attentive. We enjoyed our meal and different setting during our dinner. THE POOL BAR AND EVENING BAR I can not praise enough the bartenders who worked tirelessly around the clock to serve and satisfy constant high demand of all sorts of drinks from cold water, coffees, beers to alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. From the very first meeting your members of staff became more friends than employees thanks to their attitude, kindness, care and respect for the hotel guests. Especially massive THANK YOU to Dimitros, Oksana, Jannet and others who were looking after us during our stay in KIPRIOTIS Panorama hotel. Without you our time at the pool would not have been so amazing, for sure! It was great to see them every day and have a chat, joke and try to learn some Greek, which is proven not to be very easy. I miss you, guys! THE ENTERTAINMENT I loved the water aerobics! It was fun!!! Saturday Greek night was lovely! Music is awesome and performers given us a taste of Greek culture. THE POOLS Fantastic! To describe in one word. Plenty of space to sunbathe : in the sun, in the shade , you can have your pick! Itâs fantastic! The pools were always clean and well maintained! Great pleasure to spend time there. My absolute favourite was the beautiful bed you can book for only âŹ20.00 a day. Itâs soooo comfortable! One can easily spend an entire day at the pool without feeling too hot. Itâs ace! I wish I booked it every day. Maybe next time . RED ROOF TOP BAR Well, thatâs what pretty much sold us this hotel. On photos the views were stunning and I wanted to experience that! In real life itâs 100 times better. Itâs something which has stolen my heart from first evening my daughter and I went there. From my first sunset I knew I have to be there every night to witness this spectacular , glorious moment. Although you do have to pay âŹ8.00 for a drink itâs worth every penny. The music was amazing, the scenery was out of this world, the drinks were great! It was so wonderful that I would stay in this paradise forever! Bar staff were great! Very welcoming and lovely. Thank you all for making these unforgettable memories possible! Once a week there is a life music in the bar which I really enjoyed! I would highly recommend to visit the Roof top bar as much as you can! It was one of the most amazing holidays in my life. Your staff is a great credit to your hotel! I wish you all and your management all the best and great success. And I wish your guests to have unforgettable stay...
