This hotel is possibly one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. And believe me, I’ve stayed in a few! I’ve just got home from a six day visit to Kos for my niece’s wedding. The wedding party were all booked to stay at the Blue Lagoon complex, which although 5 star, wasn’t the kind of place I fancied. ||I found Olympia Mare on google and thought the reviews were good, so booked. I’m so glad I did. ||Nikos, the owner, is a brilliant host. I am disabled so requested a ground floor accommodation- TICK. I knew I was arriving early evening and would be tired so asked if he would get some basics in for me, TICK. I arrived to discover a fridge with all I would need. He also provided several bottles of water! ||The apartment was HUGE! I couldn’t believe how much space. A lovely kitchen area with everything provided, a dining area and lounge space, a separate bathroom and massive bedroom with super-king bed. Excellent air-con and small patio with comfy chairs and coffee table. ||||The view is gorgeous- straight at the sea which is literally 50 yards away. ||||Nikos arranged my car hire and had the guy (Rob) come to the hotel to sort the paperwork and deliver the car. ||||Driving around Kos is easy and the trip up the road to Kardamena centre takes less than 3 minutes. ||||I also drove through the town and up through the mountain to Pily and on another evening up to Zia. ||||I drove several times to Kefalos and also to Kos. ||||The whole island is full of interesting places to explore. ||||Back to Olympia Mare: if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation where you’ll feel safe and your custom is appreciated, then this hotel is perfect. ||||They have Two Stars but it is worth Five for the hospitality alone. ||||Extremely clean, they have COVID safe procedure in place and the ladies who clean the rooms are simply delightful. ||||I will definitely be returning. ||||Oh and Nikos’ mum for whom the hotel is named is...

It’s a cliche to say I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but this really was the case of this excellent family hotel. We had allocated just three nights and almost as soon as we checked and realised this just wasn’t long enough.||It is a very comfortable and welcoming hotel That has a relaxed, personal field to it, and Nikos looked after us very well indeed.||Location – very good.||It is a 20 minute walk along the sea into town. This is fine during the day as there are pavements, but we used to get a taxi home from the town afterwards for safety. It cost €9 but was well worth it.||The good thing about this is that you are secluded and have a lot of open grounds right from your doorstep down to the sea. There are lots of sun loungers available and you can just drag them whenever you want whether it be sun or shade. This was one of the favourite parts of the stay.||There is even a barbecue and an outdoor table for your convenience! ||Apartment – very spacious and extremely comfortable.||We chose a ground floor one, and this was a good choice as you walk straight from your living area out into the gardens. It was extremely quiet, except for the lovely sound of bird song and our terrace was very comfortable for a couple of hours in the morning and evening.||The bathroom is quirky but has everything you need along with good toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well over three nights. There are two air-conditioning units although we only used the one in the bedroom which was very effective.||Wi-Fi – free for unlimited devices and no password needed. it isn’t the fastest I’ve ever used but more than good enough to stream the Internet, emails and even video.||All in all, we had a wonderful short stay here and would return in a heartbeat. This is not your average hotel, but one that cares greatly about you enjoying your time and it is a very easy...

Staff are fantastic, friendly, helpful and hotel kept very clean! The grounds are always well maintained and even the parking area is cleaned daily. Towels were very fresh, new and changed regularly. With a longer stay, even the bed sheets are changed. Bath soap also offered. The WiFi works very well in all areas and all the way down to the beach! Coffee is offered via a Nespresso machine in the room which is very comfortable. Small kitchenette is more than enough to prepare a few meals. Beach and mountain view from each room. Beach area is a very short walk from the room and beds are on offer. Two sandbag paths are present to enter the sea with comfort (small rocks). Beach is private and very quiet with trees, so natural shade is available. Barbeque can also be supplied and the owner Nikos is more than willing to help, give suggestions and places to visit on the island. Location is good, close to the airport so it is comfortable to do daily trips anywhere on the island.|As advertised, a two star place, so no TV in the room but the awesome WiFi makes up for it. It is outside the village so having a car would be most comfortable, but a couple of places in Kardamaina will deliver meals there as well. Air conditioning unit is functional, albeit noisy. No curtain or doors around tub so when showering water may reach the floor, which can get slippery. Due to proximity of airport, aircraft will be seen and heard throughout the day.|Still look forward to returning and definitely...

It’s a dream place to stay if you’d like to have a relaxing, quiet, and private holiday. We stayed for 7 nights (beginning of September) and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. The room is spacious and clean. The hotel beach is literally right in front (20-second walk) and we loved its convenience! The water is very clear and clean, and we barely saw people in the water and most of the time it was all for us. All the guests were respectful and there was always enough privacy for everyone. The owner Nikos is also the highlight of the hotel! He’s very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. He gave us lots of tailored recommendations and tips. Also after checkout he let us stay at the hotel beach and lent us towels and everything, very nice!

We arrived a bit later than planned, but Nikos the owner was still very kind and accommodating. His recommendations for things to do and dining were aligned with what I had previously researched, so it was a nice confirmation! The hotel itself has a very tranquil setting and all of the guests kept to themselves. This is exactly what we were looking for and if you're looking for a self service type of accommodation, this is probably the best on Kos when you factor in the private beach, distance to dining, the airport and other attractions. I highly recommend!

If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for somewhere where you can swim before your morning shower and breakfast this is the place. It is a rare place across Europe where you have your private beach. You won't need any parasols because there are huge trees just on the beach. The rooms are expressly spacious and there are enough equipments to cook. If you want to relax for a while, do nothing but enjoy the sun and the beautiful Agean this is the place.
