Pelagia Aphrodite Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Kythira

I stayed at the Pelagia Aphrodite Hotel from May 27 to June 2, 2025 with a small group traveling together on a "Greek Yoga Retreat." The family that runs this hotel, especially Tania, ensures that guests' needs are accommodated and go above and beyond to help you in any way they can. I had a fantastic sea view room and saw some exquisite sunrises. I loved that my room had "black-out" doors so I could sleep in total darkness. When the wind picked up, however, I did leave one door open so I could be lulled to sleep by the waves lapping the shore. My balcony was amply sized with two chairs, a table and a clothes lines with clothes pins. My room and the hotel were impeccably clean. Breakfasts were satisfying and a variety of fruit, pastries, egg dishes and of course fresh, delicious Greek yogurt with Greek honey were always served. I fell in love with the yogurt and the Mountain Tea. They offer a beach towel to rent which was a real bonus for me so I did not have to pack one. Be sure to check out the items for sale - I came home with Mountain Tea, Kytherian Oregano, a Tshirt and I can't recall what else. Each evening, members of my group sat around with a cocktail before we retired for the evening. If you go to Kythera, do stay at this hotel. It is less than a mile to the village of Alia Pelagia. If you want to get around the island, I suggest renting a car. I can't say enough positive about this hotel and Tania and her mother, Eleni. I left feeling like I made a friend and had became a member...

They truly made us feel like we were part of their extended family.

The hotel itself is a true hidden gem. Located in a stunning beachfront setting, the views were nothing short of breathtaking. Our room was spacious and clean providing a comfortable and relaxing environment.
