We stayed with our son (aged 11) for 10 lovely and relaxing days at the beginning of August at Hotel Porto Diakofti. The hotel is very clean and well mainted, management and staff have been very friendly and obliging to us, for example we had no car rent at the beginning of our stay there and during high season it was practically impossible in Kythira to arrange for one. But with the remarkable assistance from staff we have managed to have a car hired for some days. ||||We had a spacious family appartment with two balconies with sea view, where we could see the impressive ship wreck sunk many years ago.Only a few minutes walk from the hotel there is a magnificent beach with some cafes and restaurants for snacks as well as for lunch and evening meals. Hotel Porto Diakofti has an excellent price/performance ratio for Kythira and we would definetely recommend this hotel to families as well as to anyone who wants to...
Read moreOur group of 16 was all pleased with their rooms which were immaculately maintained and serviced. The location is just 10 minutes from the port and is in a quiet, sparsely populated location. While there is no pool or elevator, there is plenty of space in the rooms, and wonderful views of the sea from all the balconies, including a "navagio" a ship that picturesquely sunk 18 years ago when the captain fell asleep at the stern. We visited in the first week of September, so it was even less busy and the weather was perfect (although the first night we used the air conditioning, the second we left the balcony doors open--no bugs!) While the beach was not what we cared about, it was within walking distance the first night and there are two wonderful tavernas also within walking distance. The rooms have small kitchenettes, but ours didn't have any utensils or pans, so planning ahead is...
Read moreI don't usually give reviews, but this hotel and it's owner, Molly, with her stuff, deserve the best reviews. First of all this is a very beautiful and peaceful hotel, with it's big, white rooms and large terraces and the sea just around the corner. I can actually not only see the amazing blue water, but also hear the waves and smell the salted sea air. I wasn't expected to find something like that in Greece. Porto Diakofti it's something else. The cleaning it's absolutely impeccable. You have to trust me on that, everything it's spotless! Also , a delicious homemade breakfast! This island it's something everyone must visit at least once in a lifetime. I fell in love with it! Molly, thank you for make me feel at home in the best way possible ❤️! We will always come back to your heaven! With all my respect and...
