This is the first time I write a review but I think I have to share my experience. We stayed in a decent room located in a truly beautiful spot in Kyparissi. While the room itself was okay, there were some practical issues: the bathroom drains would flood very easily, and the air conditioner was old and took a long time to cool the room. However, these were not the main problems. Since the room didn’t have a balcony, the owner Mrs. Dimitra told us that the shared courtyard was available for guests in such rooms. On our first evening, I sat quietly in a corner of the courtyard while the owner’s husband, Mr. Tasos (aged 75), was watching football. We started chatting, and unfortunately, things quickly took a disturbing turn. He began making inappropriate and disgusting “compliments.” I tried to ignore them and focus on speaking with his wife, hoping he would stop. My partner later joined, and we managed to shift the conversation to more general topics before leaving. The next afternoon, we debated whether it was a good idea to sit outside again, since our room had no balcony. We decided to sit discreetly on a bench in the courtyard with our backs turned to Mr. Tasos, hoping for some peace and privacy. Sadly, that wasn’t possible. He immediately joined our table. His wife, Mrs. Dimitra – who was otherwise kind and welcoming – brought us some homemade treats and liqueur. But then Mr. Tasos launched into a disturbing rant, full of vulgar remarks, intense staring, and an obsessive monologue about his fixation with women. At one point, he even said he envies men who don’t constantly think about female genitalia. We remained polite, trying not to cause a scene and ruin the last two days of our trip. At that point, while we were about to leave the table, a lovely family joined us, and things briefly improved. Unfortunately, Mr. Tasos then launched into a one-sided political rant that escalated to an extremely offensive and insensitive comment on a deeply serious topic. That was the final straw for me, and I left the table in disgust. For the remainder of our stay, we avoided the courtyard entirely despite the heat in the room and made sure to keep all interaction to a minimum. When we left, we did so quietly without saying goodbye. That’s when the owner, Mrs Dimitra finally reacted—not to any of her husband’s previous crude behavior, but because she considered it rude of us to leave without saying farewell. When I told her it was unacceptable for her husband to harass female guests, she responded that if he gave me a “compliment” and I didn’t appreciate it, that was my own insecurity. I tried to explain, but quickly realized that her attitude was just as problematic. The silver lining is that Kyparissi itself is stunning, and we still managed to enjoy our time outside the accommodation. But this was, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had at a guesthouse during...
