Takouras — Restaurant in Municipality of Monemvasia

I visited this tavern twice in my sort visit in Kiparisi because it has the most tasty food in the area. Try the spaghetti with shrimps “garidomakaronada”. It’s a plate that most of the gourmet restaurants will envy it. The taste and texture of the spaghetti is super. One other plate that I enjoyed was the “gavros marinatos” anchovy marinate, it was the best “gavros” I tasted in a long time. The tavern is a family run place with beautiful view. During 2 weeks sailing in Greece this was the most disappointing place I encountered. The food was not fresh (some crew members had digesting issues next morning), service extremely slow (although we were the only customers). I would not recommend this place at least in May. Maybe in high season it offers better quality, but I am definitely not eager to give it...
