Upon arrival to the hotel the check in representative informed us we would be relocated to their "sister property" with no reason as to why. The sister property was located in a remote area of the island with no amenities within walking distance and horrible back roads to access the property to begin with. This required us to take taxis to and from this location upwards of 50 euros each way, and multiple lost taxi drivers due to the remote location. Originally we had a room booked with a partial view of the sea and a private hot tub. The room we had been relocated to had zero view and was enclosed so we could only see a wall of rocks. We reached out to Oliving Mykonos Luxury Suites upon realizing the remote location, travel inconvenience, and downgrade of the room with no view of the sea to be compensated for our inconvenience of new taxi fees we would now be faced with and we were told that "you have been accommodated to a brand new hotel in a luxury suite with hot tub. Its far more than you had booked price wise and location wise is just a few minutes from Ano Mera" in our opinion this was a down grade of a room and location and our valid concerns were just ignored. This last second change ruined our plans of accessing nearby amenities on the island and we lost valuable time and money traveling back and forth to the new accommodation. Had we wanted to stay in a pricey remote location we would have booked that in the first place. Do not book at...
Read moreA “peaceful escape” that turned into a sleepless night next to a loud surprise party.
We booked Oliving Mykonos because it was advertised as a calm, peaceful escape. Unfortunately, during our stay a surprise birthday party for the young manager was held on the property, right next to our suite, with live music, loudspeakers, and his staff and friends celebrating until after 3 a.m. The noise reached over 50 dB inside our room (we measured it) while we were there with our baby.
We were extremely disappointed and sad. It was our first holiday with our little child, and we felt completely uncomfortable and unsafe in what was supposed to be a relaxing environment.
We messaged the manager during the night to complain, but he never replied. Prior to our stay, he also almost never responded to any of our emails. The next day he didn’t come by or apologise on his own initiative. Only when we decided to check out early and request a refund did he appear to say sorry. He promised to confirm the refund by email, but we never received that message or our money back.
Even though the party wasn’t organised by himself, it was still his responsibility as manager to ensure peace and comfort for his guests. The way this situation was handled was deeply disappointing and...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the hotel, the check-in staff abruptly told us we would be moved to their “sister property” without offering any explanation. This so-called sister property was situated in a remote part of the island, far from any amenities, with terrible access roads. We ended up spending around 50 euros each way on taxis, and frequently got lost due to its isolated location.
We had originally booked a room with a partial sea view and a private hot tub, but the room we were moved to had no view whatsoever and was enclosed with only a wall of rocks to see. When we contacted Oliving Mykonos Luxury Suites to address the inconvenience of the remote location, the additional taxi expenses, and the downgrade in room quality, they responded with an unhelpful message claiming we were given a luxury suite in a new hotel, which was “more than what we had booked.” This dismissive response ignored our valid concerns and complaints.
This sudden change disrupted our plans, wasted our time, and cost us extra money. If we had wanted to stay in a remote, expensive location, we would have booked that from the start. Do not book at...
