A cute resort - but not for the end of the season.
My husband and I stayed at this resort as part of a tour of Greece we did for our honeymoon. We stayed for three nights. Please note that this hotel does not do anything special for you being on your honeymoon - this was not an expectation for us, but i know it is for many.
We had a basic room. It was cute! Beautiful views over the resort, wonderful view of the sunset.
They have a shuttle that takes you to town and back every few hours. This was an awesome feature and we greatly utilized it!
The reception staff were super sweet and accommodating as much as they could.
Now for the not-so-great...
Being the end of the season apparently meant we did not get the same treatment the rest of the guests did. This meant a great lack of food options on their menu, as well as the spa being closed.
Bar and restaurant service was abysmal. I was constantly waiting for the bartenders to stop chatting to serve me, which always took several minutes. When eating at the restaurant we were barely ever checked on, and my husband was constantly having to get up and ask for assistance - and please note, we were the only ones eating in the restaurant at the time.
The breakfast was poor at best. The options were limited. When things ran out and the staff were asked to refill it, which they stated they would, they never did. We had to take coffee cups from other tables because they weren't set on all the tables, and appeared to be no extras nearby. There is no service for the breakfast - you are expected to get your food, juice, and coffee on your own. Interesting for a supposed 5 star resort.
At the pool, myself as well as others were constantly finding shards of glass. The water was freezing, very uncomfortable to swim in (admittedly it was only about 22 degrees out. But being from Canada we are used to cold water... and this was freezing). A guest next to myself asked for the umbrella to be put up for herself. An hour later it still hadn't been done, so her husband tried, and the one available was broken.
In the room, there was constantly tiny ants on the floor. I'm still trying to assess whether or not the bites that have shown up on me are simple mosquito bites, or bed bugs bases on how they have presented. The mini fridge had nothing in it except for water, which was not even replaced when it was used.
Staff checked out well before the end of the season, it seemed. While it was a cute place, I'm gonna bet there were way nicer places to stay considering this...
Read moreThis Luxury hotel is nestled in the hills of Mykonos. It has spectacular views of the ocean and hillside. The hotel is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It, like all Mykonoian structures, was white washed with accents of the beautiful Bougainvillea trees.||In the evening the spot lighting on the exterior of the hotel magnifies its beauty. You could also take in the mesmerizing sun setting over the mountain ridge. This was such an amazing view of the skyline as the sky filled with colors of yellows, oranges, and reds. The rooms had a minimalistic feel but with comfort. ||Xanthi and the hotel staff, what can I say, 5-star customer service hands down!! I had an issue with delayed luggage. Once it arrived the contents were damaged. They worked effortlessly with the airport to get my bag to the hotel. They also assisted me with whatever I needed so that this didn’t ruin my stay/trip!! This made a world of difference. They definitely care about their guest and their guest experience! To add to the guest experience, you would see Andres around the resort checking in with guest and their stay. The cleaning staff was courteous and kept everything tidy. They were very accommodating if I needed extra towels, shampoo, etc. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. You were always greeted with a smile. The hotel restaurant was good and the food was tasty. Breakfast was continental style, but you could also order omelets and additional items. The pool was small but access to pool chairs was never an issue. It was just the prefect size. The hotel offered a shuttle into town through out the day and evening. They also offered car service to/from your room, if needed. For me, this was the perfect hotel to veg and disconnect from the rest of the world. I would definitely stay here again!||I know you’re thinking there has to be some CONS! ||Yes, #1, I HAD...
Read moreWe cannot thank you enough for allowing our wedding day to be so perfect. In every regards – our rooms (the villas), the food, the rehearsal dinner, the chapel, the reception, and every minute detail in between we could not have asked for a better experience. The resort and its’ amenities were stunning (and that's an understatement). Our guests and ourselves were blown away with the facility and its’ staff. The views, the menu, and the service were impeccable. The hotel and its’ staff were more than just courteous but treated our day with the utmost sincerity and empathy, to the point we felt as if they were part of our group of guests. Harry and Rania were so attentive and concerned with our day and we cannot thank them enough for constantly checking on us and ensuring everything went smoothly. Any question or concerns we had they answered thoroughly and promptly, and with the utmost sincerity. Every staff of the hotel engaged with us and gave us service par excellence. We were more than pleased and it was mutually emotional for us when we left San Marco and all its’ staff. The staff was awed by our wedding and gave us the warmest hugs (even tears) as we were leaving. Everything you did was stellar and we will most certainly recommend your to any of our friends. We cannot describe in words our experience and the memories we made from there. Thank you for being a huge part of our lives and we hope to back at San Marco again...
