This is the 1st set of reviews in Trip Advisor I see so much variation in objectivity. I cannot imagine how the high-raters could have rated high unless they have stayed elsewhere (it just flashed upon me that the owners also have Apanema Apartments: new, much better, much cheaper, but no view, and on main street coming from Nafplio). There are also those complaining they were given rooms without the stone facades etc., obviously not realizing they booked in the Apanema hotel after seeing the Apanema Apts website (it's easy to do this, maybe not unintentionally).||So, for the review: the place oozes with the atmosphere of people trying to make a quick buck (without the effort and the expense). We got a front seaview apartment on the 2nd floor: adequately large for 2+2, furniture in good condition, nice relaxing view of small fishing dock from the small balcony (which is the only reason I have given the 2 stars). We got the room over the phone f/ €10 less than through booking.com (in retrospect, I should have paid the €10 so I could rate in booking.com as well) and 40% more than the competition.||Dividers and rails in balcony were rusted, a/c temperature setting not in apparent Celcius scale (had to set it at 20°C to get somewhere near 26°C), bathroom picture in website has been photoshopped (!!!) to make it look it is for adults other than Pygmies (see attached pic of actual bathroom), one can barely fit through shower cabin opening without one's "protrusions" touching either side (bliah!!!), elevator (an obvious afterthought at the end of a narrow alley behind the bar kitchen) will barely fit 1+1 (if you are even slightly claustrophobic don't even think about it) and takes 1'45" to go up 2 floors and 40" down (or vice versa). A couple with kids and luggage needs 20 minutes to settle in & as long to leave...||Nearby Vivari beach is moderate: pebbly w/ a lot of growth on sea bottom, but plenty adequate for a couple of days. Food at "Borelli's" very good (fish and salads).||For a nice fairwell: at 11:25 the cleaning lady knocks on the door to tell us we need to go. At 11:50 (my wife already at the "reception" with the kids and the luggage) the owner calls to tell me we REALLY need to empty the room, as if we were delaying them: "I apologize but you know how it is, it's high season and the next customers are already here". I should have answered "I couldn't care less, the room is paid for until 12..." but refrained. Check out was at 12...||At 11.53 I arrive at the "reception". My wife asks the lady-owner to pay by credit card. The owner grimaces, says the POS machine is in the bar (5m away), offers -€10 for cash and no receipt (...), I reply it is ridiculous and we walk the 5m to the bar...||Pity...
Read moreGreat small hotel, close to te sea and small beaches. The hotel is run by very friendly young couple, highly prefessional but very polite and discrete. The hotel is unbelievably clean, nicely decorated. It is highly recommended to book bed + BREAKFAST. It is real joy to have tasty breakfast at the nice terrace of the hotel caffeteria...This is the best breakfast we ever had: fresh orange juice, fresh fruits, wide range of coffee they would prepare for you....and many other things, but evry day fresh and different.||In the hotel caffeterria they also serve very tasty pizza, toast sandwiches, eiscream....coctails...||Close to the hotel there are also couple of very good Greek tavernas which offer very tasty Greek food...||The small pictorecque village Vivari is only 15 minutes from Nafplio- gorgeous small town which is must to visit and also nearby there are great places to visit like Epidavros, Sparti....||Our warmest recommenation: come...
Read moreAsk for the rooms in front of the beach.. The view of the small harbour and Vivari Bay is amazing. The hotel's rooms are recently renovated although they are quite new, spacious and very clean. The room is equipped with a fridge, small kitchen and kitchen utensils, the only thing missing is something to dry the utensils after they are cleaned. ||If you're a family then the hotel is just right for you...You really feel at home..||The hotel also has a cafeteria serving from coffe to pizza and waffles, but the prices are quite high... ||Apanema Hotel will be my choice if I ever visit VIVARI again! It's only a 10-15' drive from...
