Maistrali bed and breakfast Iraklia — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

The Maistrali Studios are located in the upper part of Iraklia's main settlement and from the big private terrace of our studio we had a great view over a large bougainvillea towards Agios Georgios and its harbour. We got picked up on arrival by Nikos, the owner, who took us together with other guests to his accomodation, about 300m uphill.||||The studio we got was large and had a double bed with a bunkbed in a small sideroom. Shower and toilet were separate. Despite the size there was not much storage space and we had to place our unpacked clothes and other items onto the bunkbed, which was covered with rather dirty linen.||||There was a small kitchen in a corner, but we didn't use it, especially since there was no storage space for the kitchen utensils there, which had all ben placed just by the sink. What we appreciated though was the empty fridge.||||Besides the terrace we especially liked the silence here. WiFi worked well and Nikos made us himself breakfast as of 8am, when officially breakfast is served as of 8.30am. There was, besides coffee or tea, a yoghurt with plenty of honey on it, two fried eggs, two slices of bread plus butter and jam by 'Bonne Maman' from France. ||||Since the studio wasn't used just after us we could keep the room till 3pm, before our departure to the next island. Lina, Nikos' wife, served us a welcome and a goodbye drink of free choice on arrival and departure. Their son Thanasis drove us with the luggage back to the harbour.||||The name 'Maistrali' refers to a small 'Maistro' wind, which blows in the summer months in the Ionian islands, while in the Aegean, where the island of Iraklia is located, during this time the usually stronger Meltemi from the north is blowing. Отель Maistrali, в котором я отдыхала в мае-июне 2015 г., один из немногих отелей в селении Агиос Георгиос - портовом селении острова. Собственно, порт - это причал, к которому несколько раз в неделю приходит большой паром Блю Стар, и немного чаще - Экспресс Скопелитис, паром местных линий "Малые Киклады", который курсирует между о.Аморгос, самым восточным островом Малых Киклад и о.Наксос, попутно останавливаясь на других островах Малых Киклад: Шинузе, Донузе, Куфонисси.|||| В порту небольшой песчаный пляж с хорошим заходом в море. Лежаков и прочих пляжный аксессуаров нет, есть лишь скамейки вдоль пляжа, прямо на песке, в тени тамарисковых деревьев. Есть два мини-маркета, в одном торгуют билетами на паромы, тут же можно получить забронированный и оплаченный ранее билет, предъявив распечатку. Есть несколько таверн, банкомат в порту.||||Сам отель довольно простой, в типично кикладском стиле, без особых изысков, но все необходимое имеется. У меня был номер с мини-кухней, в которой мойка, холодильник, плита с микроволновкой, набор посуды. Я, правда, не готовила, но выпить кофе или чай, сделать тосты или салат могла в любое время. Кровать в номере широкая, удобная, есть стол и стулья, шкаф. Достаточно розеток для всех гаджетов. Огромный балкон, на нем стол и кресла, шезлонг, вид потрясающий - на всю бухту. ||||При отеле таверна - широкая веранда с видом на бухту. Там подавали завтрак и там же можно было поужинать и пообедать. Готовили великолепно, настоящая домашняя греческая еда, и при этом более чем разумные цены. ||Владелец, Никос, очень приветливый человек, встречал нас в час ночи, при том, что паром опоздал на час, без малейшего недовольства. Всегда был очень отзывчив, как и весь персонал. Там даже русскоговорящая девушка есть, что особенно удивило.||||Я очень люблю кикладские острова, особенно маленькие, но Ираклию могу порекомендовать только очень уставшим от жизни туристам или любителям ультра-уединения. На Ираклию я приехала очень уставшей, отоспалась, отдохнула, но пяти дней мне вполне хватило,захотелось чего-то повеселей, и я уехала на Наксос.||||Но в целом остров милый, а отель очень хороший,...

A great location in the small village of Agios Giorgios with a lovely view of the port from the balcony of the room (and the terrace of the taverna, which unfortunately was closed). It is a very peaceful and quiet place (as the whole island!)!||The room was very clean and spacious, with a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower.||Nikos, the owner, was a friendly host and came to the port to pick me up and offered me a coffee in the terrace of Maistrali.
