Where do you want me to start!!||Incorrect Accommodation: Our initial booking was for a family two-bedroom room with two separate sleeping areas. However, we were given a room with one double, one single bed and a sofa with blankets with no seperating door. This was not the accommodation we paid for. |Having to ask to be given a new room with 2 beds for my children made me feel like an inconvenience for the hotel. Being told the first room I was given was what we paid for, they did move us but still not the room we paid for.||Cleanliness and Maintenance; The second room we were moved to was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We found a dirty knife and cup in a drawer, the toilet had not been cleaned, and the toilet seat was broken (later repaired by housekeeping).||The shower was poorly maintained, with no shower door meaning the bathroom was soaked every time, a disconnected shower head from The wall, and clear deterioration of the taps due to salt corrosion. The bathroom |window was marked with handprints and water stains.||Water Quality: The water from the taps and showers was noticeably salty, making it unfit for showering and hygiene. This is particularly concerning as no other hotels or Shops in the area appear to have this problem and I know this as I asked local shops and other restaurants. Sensitive skin well you'll soon know about it.||We had to ask for bottled water for drinking, cleaning teeth, and other basic needs, which while it was available was a total inconvenience on a daily basis. This should have been stocked in the |fridges by the staff.||Around the hotel grounds, we observed piles of rubbish and even a large hole filled with discarded waste, which appeared to be partially covered — an unsightly and concerning hygiene issue.||Misleading or Unavailable Amenities: The welcome letter the hotel gave us at check inseveral advertised amenities were either non-existent or failed to materialize.||The gym- asked where it was and they couldn't tell me!!||Children’s Slides: No children's entertainment or slides as advertised. We were told the children's slides had not been working for months, and the manager also confirmed the slides have not been working. There was no entertainment at all for kids ||Themed dining nights: The scheduled mealtime themed nights lacked any real |planning or effort. It appeared the staff simply rearranged the dishes on offer around the hot plate. Although the welcome letter stated a list of various themed nights this didn't happen.||The so called "snack bar" was a mini-fridge with cold sandwiches, this is not |acceptable for a 4* all-inclusive service and certainly cannot be classed as a |“snack-bar”. The sandwiches were greasy and sat there for most of the day.|Only once during our stay was there a warm food option — which was covered in wasps.||Pool Safety and Hygiene: Our knees, elbows and feet turned blue after coming out of the pool, which raised serious concerns about the pool's sanitation and safety for children. There was also a visible hole in the pool lining, posing a real risk of entrapment — particularly alarming given the absence of a lifeguard. Other guests |shared similar concerns and stated that hotel staff were already aware of this issue yet continued to allow pool use.||Inadequate Service: We had to repeatedly ask for basic items like toilet paper and coffee refills for the room. Requests for extra pillows were met with a refusal on the grounds it was "not possible." The room was also not cleaned on the designated days.||Environmental and Health Concerns|Having now arrived back home and having done some research.|We were also alarmed to learn, from a local news source, there is a report about the near by lagoon had been previously deemed uninhabitable due to the mosquitos and the level of malaria carrying insects and the report stated "A fast-track investment is being planned which will bypass environmental legislation as it is considered a |"strategic investment"!!!||SO MY HONEST REVIEW - PLEASE DEAR GOD, DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS HOTEL!!! IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT BOOKED ASK TO...
Read moreAbsolutely NOT Mobility Friendly—A Health & Safety Nightmare! (0/5 Stars if possible) This hotel was booked and sold as a disability/mobility friendly holiday, which is a blatant lie. My partner, elderly mother, and I faced a catalogue of serious issues that made our stay miserable and dangerous. Accessibility Issues (Room & Hotel)
Initial Room Disaster: We were checked into a first-floor room away from the main hotel, only accessible by stairs, completely unsuitable for a mobility booking. The staff member had no idea what we meant when we questioned it and told us to wait until morning. Room Change Nightmare: After demanding a room change the next day (and being told the unsuitable room was what we booked), we were moved to a different first-floor room. The lift was tiny, barely fitting three people, with no room for a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Mobility Scooter Access: We had to manually lift the mobility scooter over two steps into the hotel to keep it safe from thunderstorms and to charge it. A promised ramp never materialised. This caused excessive pain for all of us and worsened my partner's condition. Non-Accessible Facilities: The shower had a fixed glass screen with an opening of only about a foot in width, making it impossible to access. The dining area also had steps my partner struggled with massively.
Room Conditions & Housekeeping
Unacceptable Bedding: The third bed had no bedding. When we asked, we were only given sheets—no pillow. My partner had to give my mother her pillow and use rolled-up towels herself. "Garden View" was a Rubbish Dump: Our so-called "garden view" was a broken-down abandoned car, metal fencing, and broken wooden pallets. (See photos). The room photos on the hotel's website are completely inaccurate. Health Hazards: The room constantly smelled of sewage coming from the bathroom drain, where the cover was collapsed with sharp edges. We were all covered in painful, bleeding bites from a severe infestation of red biting ants. Food & Dining
Inedible, Unsafe Food: The food was cold, swimming in oil and water, and seemed to be leftovers from days before. We were told to use a microwave to heat it up ourselves! RAW CHICKEN SERVED: We were served raw chicken (see photos). When this major health hazard was pointed out to the chef, he just shrugged. My partner became ill from the food, and they continued to serve the raw chicken. Flies Everywhere: The dining room was infested with hundreds of flies sitting on the food, fruit, and fruit bar. The dining staff were unhelpful and, at times, intimidating when issues were brought to their attention. Hotel Facilities & Safety
Pool is Dangerous: The pool was unusable due to broken filters, broken drains, and NO lifeguard. The paint in the pool stained our feet blue. Unsanitary Toilets: The pool bar toilet was disgusting; flushing caused water to shoot out of the back and all over the floor, a severe health and sanitation hazard. Wasp Infestation: The entire hotel was plagued by horrific wasps, and there were visible, active wasps nests all over the building that were being ignored. Non-Existent Shuttle Bus: We were promised a free shuttle bus to the local town—it did not exist. As the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, this resulted in an extra €500 in taxi costs alone. Fake Entertainment: The promised daily poolside and night-time entertainment was only provided on three days. In summary, this hotel is not fit for purpose, is a public health and safety hazard, and should be investigated. DO NOT book here, especially if you have a disability or mobility issues. Read moreI recently spent a week here at Laguna resort with a friend. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel in my opinion which is what was advertised on the love holidays website.
We both got in late on the first day from our flights and went to the reception desk where a man greeted us, made us fill out one form and then gave us the keys to the room which was on the downstairs level with an open terrace view of the pool. Me and my friend were both confused as to why we had been given no wristbands as this is what is stated on the website and what was written in the room on a sheet if you were an all inclusive visitor.
We entered the room and noticed a lot of things wrong. The first major thing we noticed was that there was no curtain covering the glass double doors that has an open view right out to the pool. We took a look and all the other downstairs rooms had a curtain apart from ours. We both went back to complain to the man at reception and he just apologised whilst laughing and claimed he already knew about the curtain situation but they can not do anything about it till the next day. So we both slept the night without a curtain and everyone by the pool had a nice view of us sleeping in the morning in bed.
On the second day we went out to reception again to ask when a curtain will get put on our double glass doors and whether we need a wristband. Another guest who was staying in the hotel approached us and she said that she had previously stayed in our room and she had asked to move to a new room as there was too many things wrong with it. By reminding reception another 2 times about the curtain and the wristbands we finally got a staff member to attend to our needs.
The other major things wrong with our room was that the bathroom door did not lock, it wasn't built in properly. The air con was leaking everywhere and we had to use toilet roll to stop it from dripping on us in bed. The tv remote had no batteries in it, we asked reception for some batteries, they told us to come back the next day. We finally got some batteries and then we found out the tv itself did not work anyway. The mini fridge was broken and did not work. There was no kettle, fresh water, tea, coffee on arrival or at all. There was single sheet on the bed and two flat pillows. The bed was awful, basically a concrete slab. There was hair on the toilet seat. The mirror was falling off the wall and the shower head was built into the wall crooked so you had to take it out and shower with it in your hand as it wasn't directly above your head when pouring. We had NO house keeping through the entire week! No clean towels, no toilet roll, no clean sheets, no change of the bins. We went to reception to ask for some new towels and they said they only had 1 left, we took it and then discovered their was red marks all over it, blood?.
The food was ok. Mosquitos everywhere. The swimming pool was brilliant and there was always a sun bed free. The resort is close to the beach and mini markets. We also met a few other guests and they were saying how many complaints they had made about their rooms too.
Overall, the room was a massive let down, the staff weren't helpful at all, no housekeeping what so ever. However, the outdoor areas and the food were...
