We booked Conte Villas last minute in Crete; not knowing what to expect, but we loved our stay! Located in Chania side of the island, it really exceeded our expectations. From the point of booking Despina went out of her way to ensure all of our needed items and questions were answered. She inserted bed-gaurds for our young toddler, a highchair, and a stroller for our stay. It was all incredibly helpful. The villa is of luxury and elevated quality in both the architecture, appliances, and even kitchenware. The internet was fast as well. The pool can be heated for an extra charge, but it was worth it as we swam mornings and evenings. The villas are located on top of hill of an olive and orange orchard so it's incredibly peaceful and quiet. If you are looking for a more relaxed trip without all the business of touring, this would be a great stay for you and your family. You can easily stay with extended family or another family too. The villa is spacious and well-designed to not feel cramped. I loved our floor-to-ceiling glass hallway. There is a chef that cooks breakfast every morning in the back garden and the food is fresh and filling to start your day. There is also the cutest vegetable and herb garden that you can pick with your children, along with the most beautiful local flowers. Making fresh orange juice from the trees just outside the door was also a morning treat. Despina can also help with airport and car rental bookings. You will definitely need a car. With the quietness, there aren't many places to eat just outisde the door, but a local grocery store is just a 5 minute drive away and a very delicious gyros shop next to it. If you don't mind cooking, this is a great stay. We did arrive incredibly late and starving for our trip and Despina was kind enough to drive us to an open pizza shop, nearby. She is incredible! The villa also includes washer, dryer, pool, beach and bathroom towels, a few coffee and dishwashing pods, and she even included some pool toys for our little one. :) For sights, there is the Venetian Port just a 30 min drive away, along with shopping and eating, sightseeing and Falasarna Beach (crystal blue waters) is just an hour drive away. We also managed to find this local family-owned Cretan restaurant called Accacia, just up the corner from the villas as well and it was delicious. Definitely a hidden gem. There is also a Traditional Ceramics Workshop just on the main road, handmade by a man names Costas Apostalakis who is a 3rd generation artist. His shop is incredible. Despina will go out of your way to answer any questions and she really goes above and beyond every detail...you can see it during your stay. Highly recommend. Thank you Despina for making our stay...
Read moreIt’s been a week since I returned home, and we are still dreaming about our week at Conte Marino Villas. A group of 14 friends and family rented all three villas for the week, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable vacations we've ever had.||From the very beginning, Despina’s communication was flawless. Her attention to detail, clear instructions, and helpful guidance ensured everything went smoothly, even as we arrived at different times.||The villas themselves are stunning—beautifully designed, modern, clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. No detail was overlooked. All appliances, supplies, furniture, and linens are top-quality. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable.||The layout is thoughtfully designed. Each villa has its own private pool and yard area, yet they are connected at the back, making it easy for the group to gather and socialize.||Despina’s assistance continued throughout our stay. She was always just a few minutes away if we needed help—whether it was arranging a restaurant reservation for a large group, booking car services, or even organizing last-minute massages after our hike through Samaria Gorge.||The gift basket was a lovely touch, filled with local goodies that we truly enjoyed.||We highly recommend the breakfast at the villa. Not only was the food delicious (especially the fresh orange juice!), but it also provided a beautiful setting for us to regroup each morning, share stories, and plan our day.||For our last night, we had a private dinner arranged by Despina, and the experience was spectacular—fantastic food and excellent service.||The pool was perfect—refreshing and relaxing. We struggled to decide whether to explore Chania or stay at the villa and unwind.||Located on a quiet street away from the busy tourist areas, the villas are still within walking distance of the beach and many fantastic restaurants. The charming Old Town is only a 20-minute drive.||My only regret is not staying longer. We will...
Read moreLet's start with our host Despina: what a wonderful lady! She welcomed us with open arms (literally!) and gave us a grand tour of our villa Alivia. She explained the art work, architecture, the love her and her husband had put into building these homes and it showed! To top it off, we received a big welcome package filled with treats, honey and olive oil! ||Then the villa itself, a home away from home. It is even better than the pictures in real life! Comfort and class combined. There were days we didn't even leave the villa as it has all that you need. Breakfast was also carefully prepared by a chef and with delicious variety every day. ||Location: ideally placed within a 5 min drive from Platanias beaches and restaurants. Luxury beach clubs 15min drive away. A small supermarket at walking distance and a lidl 5min drive away. Chania less than 30min drive away. Recommend hiking Rikko Gorge only 30min drive away. STUNNING! In the villa itself you can see the sunset beautifully from the terrace upstairs. Eventhough you are so close to liveliness, the villa itself is located in a quiet street so we slept like babies. We also loves the local restaurant (8min walk away) so much, we dined there 2 out of the 4 nights!||I stayed with my partner and some friends for 4 nights and we wish we stayed longer. But we will surely return. Thank you Despina for your hospitality. We look back at our stay with...
