Pefka Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Pylaia - Chortiatis

We stayed here as we had a hospital appointment in Thessaloniki. I had emailed in advance to ask for a room with a mountain view - unfortunately I did not get a room with a view and instead had a room facing the road.||||The room is very basic - no kettle, no safe, no iron (I think you can borrow an iron from reception). We took our own kettle. The room was very clean, but Covid meant the maids aren't allowed to come in and clean. This was fine for a three-night stay, and you can ask for the bin to be changed, fresh towels, etc. The wi-fi was strong enough to stream.||||The reception staff and breakfast room staff are lovely and helpful.||||The air conditioning was not very strong, and we felt hot and uncomfortable when it was 41 degrees outside.||||The room seemed to be on a slight incline, and I was gently sliding down the bed when I lay on it. The sleep quality was poor as the bed felt tilted and the air con was ineffective.||||Breakfast was adequate - the lady will serve you due to Covid. We had egg and sausage on toast, with Greek yoghurt, coffee and juice each day.||||An easy walk takes you to shops, bars and restaurants which were good.||||A taxi to Thessaloniki (Kalamaria) was around 12 EUR, and to the airport was 25 EUR.||||I would rate this as a solid 3.5 stars, and would consider staying again due to the nice staff and...

The hotel is located in the north suburb of Thessaloniki called Panorama and is a little bit hard to find.||Te hotel itself from the outside looks like a typical hotel but from the inside looks very nice and well preserved.||The room was great, spacious and clean.||The balcony was very big with amazing views||Bed was really comfortable and big and bathroom was also very clean and looked new.||Breakfast was also great with lots of fresh choices. Wifi was also working properly.||The negatives were the elevator which was somehow dated and dirty, the location of the hotel which is around 10 km from the center ot the town and the staff which looked very bored. There is no parking spot so you park your car everywhere you will find available.||The price is a little bit high and although we went directly to the reception it had the same price as in booking.com||We will definitely visit this hotel again...

Where should I start; The mattresses were very hard, cleanliness was questionable (evident from the fact that we saw a centipede and further buttressed from our sighting of insects in our room), and our towels were not changed even though cleaning service came to our room and clearly saw how they were extremely wet after a whole day of usage. At the same time, the breakfast variety was mediocre at best.||Furthermore, why does a hotel in Thessaloniki have pictures of Athenian landmarks in its rooms? Imagine if a Real Madrid fan went to Camp Nou wearing a Real jersey.
