Kalostous Villa — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

My partner and I stayed at Kalostous Villa for a week. I wish we had longer!

Such a quiet, peaceful location. Beautiful views out to the sea, over the Cretan countryside and to the nearby picturesque village of Messi. Still not too far from amenities - it's a 10 minute drive to Lidl and a strip of restaurants in the east of Rethymno (would highly recommend Taverna Garden and Poliou House). Within 10 minutes walk of the villa there's Taverna Andreas and a taverna in Messi. In general, the villa was in a great location for exploring Crete by car. Arkadi Monastery is a must, 15 minutes drive away.

We stayed in Kalostous 1 and loved it. The decor is modern and feels luxurious. There's an open plan kitchen equipped with everything you'd possibly need to cook in with - oven, microwave, hob and all utensils. The kitchen also has a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. The corner sofa was spacious and comfy, great for watching TV in the evening (Smart TV with all streaming services). Queen bed in the main bedroom with a vanity station, wardrobes, a TV and bathtub with jets. There's an en-suite toilet in this bedroom too where the washing machine was kept. Really comfy bed with plenty of pillows. There's a sliding door so you can go outside straight from the bedroom. Second bedroom had twin beds, a wardrobe and a TV. It was modern and surprisingly spacious. There's a bathroom in the hallway with a rainfall shower, which was perfect. Aircon in all rooms which was a saviour.

Pool area was stunning. Green, modern and well-kept. Amazing views as mentioned. Felt very private. 4 sunbeds with umbrellas and three different seating areas depending on where you'd prefer to sit. The seating area immediately out of the sliding doors is fully shaded for some respite from the sun. We noticed there was an outside grill but didn't have chance to use it.

WiFi was fantastic. Achieved speeds of over 100Mbps, great for streaming and photo backups. Got it in most areas, including around the pool, although there was a deadzone in the main bedroom.

Mari greeted us on the first day - she was really welcoming and informative. The villa is cleaned every 3/4 days and towels replaced.

Kalostous Villa is perfect if you want a holiday of doing absolutely nothing, but also perfect if you want to explore Crete but have a relaxing retreat to go back to in-between. We can't...

Wonderful place to stay for short or long break. Maria and George are the most welcoming hosts. It was our third holiday there, and we will be coming back next year,...

Wir waren nun das zweite mal in dieser Anlage, waren wieder begeistert und können sie uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Perfekt für eine Familie zu viert, Zustand der Anlage ist sehr gut, sehr sauber, alles vorrätig was man braucht, Service von George und seinem Team perfekt, die Lage ist top (südlich von Rethymnon), ob Tavernen, Supermarkt, Olivenfarm alles in der Nähe.
