We arrived at the apartments and was welcomed by the owner Nikos. He showed us to our apartment and we were astounded. The apartment was excellent. Very clean, and could not believe how nice it was. It has everything. There is a large room with a huge double bed. There is a kitchen with all the mod cons. Kettle, coffee machine, oven, fridge freezer, even a sandwich toaster. There is also a nice bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and you even get toiletries, shower gel, soap and nice towels. There is also a TV and air conditioning. We also had a huge balcony with table and chairs for eating outside and table and chairs for eating inside too. The owner looks after you very well and can't do enough for you. I would highly recommend these apartments. It is very quiet and only a short stroll to the centre of Palekastro where there are many tavernas, shops and bars. We had a great time in Palekastro and the surrounding area exploring the beaches and Lagos Studios & Apartments was OK. However the aircon didn't work and kept switching off every 15 minutes or so. It was fairly hot so we had to sleep with the windows open - luckily there were fly nets. We didn't let it spoil our trip but the people that run the hotel didn't really care that the aircon wasn't working and blamed it on the boss saying the settings couldn't be changed. This was my 3rd visit to Crete but this time I had decided to explore Lasithi Province. I stopped to ask for accommodation to Lagos Studios and eventually I spent 5 nights there. A very value for money choice. Clean and comfortable rooms including kitchen appliances. A little table outside for your morning coffee. Free parking and very close to Kouremenos beach.
