Still eating here May 2023...Yesterday after watching some of the food preparation and hearing the quiet enthusiasm with which the food was described, I commented that 'you really care about the food'. The response was powerful...' of course, it's our food too'.

We also noted the changes in the hotel rooms since our last stay...new air con units, new beds...divan type - wonderful! - as well as new doors, locks etc. The shower curtains are still annoying however! It's still great to be right on the little square, and get a real appreciation of local life in a vibrant, yet small place.

We are here in May 2023. Exceptional dinner from the 'ready food' selection...not on the menu... Goat in lemon sauce Ratatouille...was amazing...taste and visually Artichoke..baked

We have stayed at the Hotel, and eaten in the restaurant a lot. It is always very good, and very reasonably priced. It is so much better than the usual tavernas etc. The staff are helpful and there is...

Perhaps the best cook in the village. We have been there many times over the years and the quality of the food remains outstanding! Fresh local ingredients cooked with love. If I had to recommend a plate I would say the veal with pepper and the apaki. But honestly, everything is just great.

The service is very friendly, polite and kind staff.

Abbiamo mangiato benissimo in questa taverna che si trova al centro di Paliocastro ed era a pochi passi dal nostro alloggio. Senza prenotazione riusciamo a sederci all'esterno sotto al gazebo, perché la taverna ha dei tavoli fuori e altri all'interno. Menù vario, piatti di carne e di pesce, immancabile la cucina locale. Abbiamo ordinato come antipastini una feta grigliata (un must delle mie vacanze in Grecia) e un piatto di melanzane condite con sugo di pomodoro, cipolla, salsa d'aglio e con sopra la feta grattugiata. Quest'ultimo piatto, davvero molto buono, non aveva nulla da invidiare alla nostra parmigiana. Ve lo consiglio. A seguire abbiamo ordinato due piatti di carne, il primo era un pollo cotto al forno in salsa di limoni, accompagnato da patate e le patate non erano fritte, erano tagliate a fette grandi ed erano cotte anch'esse nel forno nel sughetto della carne. Il secondo piatto era composto da polpette di carne al sugo accompagnata da riso. Molto soddisfatto della scelta e dei piatti, cucinati davvero bene. Personale cortese e disponibile, servizio abbastanza veloce. Parcheggi in strada nelle vie limitrofe e zone adiacenti. Prezzi modici, spesa totale 38€ circa, senza vino ma con acqua.
