When I booked this holiday I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel, a laid back hotel featuring an informal restaurant & a bar/lounge, plus a private beach and terrace. This booking was made in 2019 BC { before Covid} Unbeknown to me the hotel was bought by a hotel chain in 2021 and have been renovating the building, my impression is they are trying to make it into a Boutique hotel. Please remember the following comments are based on my owe preferences. Restaurant is now Al A Carte for all 3 meals, yes this includes breakfast. This was not for me. I prefer a buffet style breakfast, also for lunch I'm more of a snack person not a four course meal person, followed by a further four course meal for dinner. Your choice was soup, salad, either a fish meat or vegetarian dish and dessert. The majority of the people in my party decided to have either lunch or dinner at one of the local tavernas. The rooms had a very small wardrobe, on reflection you couldn't really call it a wardrobe, it was a gap in the wall. It wasn't long enough to hang up dresses or long skirts, it wasn't big enough to hang 2 people's clothes in. In some rooms there was nowhere to put your case and after speaking to a couple with 3 children who had a family room, they just left everything on the floor. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower cubicle but the shower head did not have a wall hook, this was intended as a way to save water. This resulted in several inconveniences, for myself it meant taking twice as long to take a shower, for several other members of my party it meant taking a glass from the restaurant and washing their hair over the sink, they had to take the glasses from the dining room as they were no glasses in the bathroom for your toothbrush. If you were infirm with balance issues or have young children this could render the shower unusable. The terrace area is great with the exception of the traffic passing by within a foot from the wall making it very noisy. The beach is not private anybody can use it. For the above reasons I was extremely disappointed with the hotel and would not return. Ending on a positive note.... The staff were amazing under exceptional...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay, all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Most food served as buffet style. We stayed B&B, breakfast had plenty of choice, from full English, Greek treats and continental. As lwith most buffets, would not recommend full English as cools quickly. Best were the eggs when freshly supplied. Evening meals expensive 25 euro each. However, I was able to request a simple Greek salad for myself as my partner did not want to eat much and paid accordingly. On our last day I had a tuna salad for lunch 10 euros which was very tasty and fresh.|Predominately, British retired aged persons enjoy this hotel and Greek families. Sunbeds have to be hired, but we are not sunbed lovers and preferred to explore the island , Which we did, good bus services, Symi tours, taxi boats all available daily.|There are various tavernas close by, walkable from hotel, a matter of taste some more traditional than others. There are many more tavernas in Gialos, main harbour to try. A supermarket also close by. Prices, not much different from UK beer or wine 5 euros each. Dinner 16-20+ euros in tavernas. |Hotel itself is very clean and accessible. Ground floor room requested. Lovely view of gardens, mountain from balcony, even the odd lizard basking on a wall🙂 The only thing that marred our stay was the constant drumming of a tumble dryer below us and noisy air conditioners on every balcony.||For reference we were in room 111, rooms further along or up maybe better.||Beautiful view over the marina when sat outside, plenty of...
Read moreThe best hotel of 10 I have stayed in on 6 different Greek Islands. A great location for a relaxing break in the sun. We went in the last week in June before U.K. school holidays and it was perfect. The hotel is modern, in excellent condition with an absolutely stunning location overlooking Symi bay - the sea is only 25 m from the front door! The room we had was modern, spotlessly clean and with a sea view - in fact probably the best sea view as we were central over the door. That said the balcony door was soundproof and we heard nothing of the comings and goings of others. The food for breakfast was outstanding, as were the daily lunches, and the two occasions we ate in the food was better than the local tavernas and the restaurants in the port town a short bus ride away. Drinks were plentiful and exceptional value for money - all beers being delivered in frozen glasses, something you don’t get in most bars beyond the first drink.
For us however, it was the absolutely fantastic staff that made our stay so enjoyable. Nothing was too much for the manager and reception staff, and the bar staff were outstanding. Witty, charming and friendly all rolled into a great team! We had a relaxed and funny time!
Nearby is excellent boat hire, interesting car hire, hourly bus pick ups into town, a supermarket, 2 tavernas and a truck stop type bar.
Thank you all at the Pedi Beach...
