Great place..Margerita made our stay SO much better.
I booked this property for our honeymoon because of the reviews and it was well worth it. It's located in Perissa. We were greeted by Margerita (more about her later) and shown our room. The property was in excellent condition and located just a short 10 minute walk from the black sand beach. Our room was well decorated and the bathroom was newly remodeled. The pool area was very nice with plenty of open space and a bar area and a great view of the monastery. The Hotel is just off the main road so you don't hear the traffic. There is nothing bad I can say about this property.
Now..the best part of staying there was Margerita, the manager. She went above and beyond to make our stay outstanding. She is very friendly and had great insight on what to do, where to go, things to do, where to eat, etc. If I expressed any interest or had a question about anything she took the ball and ran with it. Everything from local bus schedules to when is the best time to visit Oia and Fira to miss the tourist bus crowds to getting us a rental car delivered. I asked if there was a laundry service I could use and she insisted that I bring her my clothes and she would do them for me at no charge. She made our honeymoon stay that much more special.
The pros about staying in Perissa - Not as crowded as Fira or Oia. The most popular black sand beach is located there. Great shops, restaurants and views. Getting around was very easy. Everyone we encountered was very friendly.
The cons about staying in Perissa - You will see the fallout of the economic problems Greece is still trying to recover from in unfinished and abandon construction projects. Some places you would see rubbish on the ground. No sidewalks and EVERYONE drives a little nuts (ourselves included) as to keep pace with and not get honked at. There are so many people on scooters, 4-wheelers and rental cars and there seems to be no traffic laws to abide by.
My overall impression of Margarenia Studios is excellent thanks in huge part to Margerita.
Perissa is a great place to stay on Santorini Island but be prepared for crazy tourist drivers and huge crowds...
Read moreMy mother and I absolutely loved our stay at Margarenia Studios in Perissa. This beautiful, family-run property—hosted by the wonderful Angela and her lovely parents—offers a warm and personal touch that made our visit truly special. From the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well looked after.
The staff are always happy to help, whether it’s booking taxis, organising trips, or offering spot-on advice about buses and exploring the island. Their local knowledge and genuine hospitality made navigating Santorini easy and enjoyable.
The location is perfect—peaceful and quiet, away from the busier tourist areas but still conveniently close to everything. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach and just 10 minutes to nearby bars and restaurants.
Our room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with every detail thought of. All areas of the property are immaculately maintained, from the relaxing pool area to the bright and welcoming breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast—what a treat! A delicious variety, served in a lovely setting each morning.
The pool is a real highlight—calm, clean, and the perfect place to unwind. The poolside bar adds an extra touch of comfort and charm.
We truly can’t wait to return to Margarenia Studios. It’s the kind of place you don’t just stay at—you remember fondly and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a relaxing and authentic...
Read moreThis year, for the first time, I was with my family on the island of Santorini. In August we spent a beautiful ten days there. We were really lucky in our choice of accommodation. Hotel Margareia is a beautiful oasis in the Perrisa area. On entering you will be very pleasantly surprised by the harmotic layout of the whole area, its cleanliness and the abundance of ever flowering plants that surround the hotel building. The beauty and harmony of the hotel and its gardens is underlined by the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, Margarita, who will be happy to accommodate any of your requests and give you valuable advice, whether you decide to spend your holidays in Perissa or travel around the island. We stayed in a mezzanine room which was beautifully bright and clean. The owner prides herself on first class service for her guests. The pool is large enough for hotel guests to relax and very clean. At the pool bar, the owner will prepare coffee or any drink you wish. The hotel offers a very tasty and rich breakfast. Restaurants for lunch or dinner are within walking distance and offer classic Greek cuisine, delicious waffles and pancakes or fish and seafood. I recommend this hotel not only to couples but especially to families...
