Modern Dome Homes of Santorini — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We stayed at the Modern Dome Homes as we were getting married in Santorini, and we couldn't have chosen better if we'd tried! The welcome we had from Babis and Loukas was fantastic - not least considering the fact that my father had taken ill on the flight. They didn't hesitate to call a doctor for us, stayed with me until the ambulance arrived, called later to ensure everything was ok, and even arranged a transfer back from the hospital for us to the villa later that night. I've never felt in such safe hands, and it was so appreciated in such an highly emotive situation.

The villas themselves are super clean, the maids that come every day are so lovely, and nothing was too much trouble for anyone concerned.

The stocked fridge and cupboards were a lovely, welcoming touch, and proved a bit of a life saver given our emergency situation on arrival - so thank you so much!

The fixtures and fittings, including the outdoor furniture are of fabulous quality. The supermarket and bakery are a really short walk away and we went most days to collect something. The beach and restaurants are about a 20 minute walk. We had 2 children aged 8 and 9 with us, and they managed the walk down and back for dinner in the evening without any problems.

The team even went so far as to decorate our room on the night of our wedding with rose petals, balloons, sparkling wine and a delicious gateaux in the freezer! The maids gave the kids inflatables for the pool, and our entire stay was just wonderful.

The only fault I could find was the lack of a bread knife and large chopping board, other than that - the villas are perfect! I would...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the modern dome homes. We rented the beige home and it was lovely. The hosts were communicative, accommodating and provided excellent resources for our first time in Santorini.

Above and beyond: We were in Santorini for my birthday doing a photoshoot and when we got back on they had decorated the villa with balloons, left me a cake and champagne! Absolutely incredible service.

Pros: Very clean, someone comes and cleans each day. Perfect hot shower, water pressure. 2 full bathrooms, the hosts even provided a few snacks to kickstart our journey. Water, juice, crackers and the cupboards have everything you need to cook a meal. The pool was a gem and the jacuzzi was perfect. Overall amazing experience.

Cons: The only con I’d say is the location from Oia and Fira. Take advantage of Nikos who helped us with transportation our entire stay. Lookas has his card is available to you. Amazing manager! Once we figured out how to get back and forth it made our trip smooth.

Location: If you’re looking to stay local is Perissa then this is a great location. 15-20 min walk to the beach, great local bars and shops. Just be careful as there is no sidewalk.

The villas and the welcome we had was faultless. The villa's themselves are very well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A daily maid service and a very well stocked fridge on arrival were both really nice touches. We had a very warm welcome from Babis who we genuinely felt would do anything we needed to make our stay the best experience.

The villa's are just slightly staggered with high walls outside, so those seeking privacy will be pleased. Bathrooms are spacious and there's also lots of places to sit, eat, sunbathe outside too. The furniture is also high quality and this makes a difference.

The supermarket is only a couple of minutes away and this too is very well stocked for those wanting to do lots of self catering.

The beach and walk to restaurants is 15 minutes or so, but worth the walk. Perissa has a great choice of beachfront restaurants and bars that are good value. Watersports are also available at a couple of locations too.
