If I am not mistaken, this is a family owned and run hotel. This is evident in the care taken, attentiveness, and overall passion shown throughout the duration of our stay. We were quite shocked that they only had 2 stars as our experience exceeded far beyond this.||The hotel is located in a quiet street with a sea view, only a short 10-15 min walking distance to the centre. Aesthetically, it’s beautifully built and has a lovely simple but cosy atmosphere with great attention to detail - I particularly loved the pool area. ||The staff was incredibly kind and willing to help always, even taking the time to explain sightseeing tours, provide maps and recommendations. ||The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Our AC was heavily leaking and they very generously upgraded us to a beautiful suite within a few hours, at their own discretion and free of charge. ||Breakfast was fresh and tasty with a good selection. I would just recommend a few more fruit and/or healthy options at breakfast which are not as carb heavy. ||Overall, we really enjoyed our stay as a group and I would love to return in the future. We even received a very thoughtful little gift upon check out. Thank you wonderful team! Keep it up.||Other Suggestions:|* Small snacks/light simple bites available for lunch or afternoon snack would be convenient. |* Pool towels for guest use. |* Reduce...
Read moreWe chose this 2* hotel for its closeness to the port and the swimming pool (not very big). You need to be aware of a bit of a climb up a hill/steps. We booked a Superior Studio on the ground floor with direct access to the pool with kitchenette. However, we were up on the second floor which wasn't ideal as I have knee problems. Our bed was against a wall which wasn't ideal as I had to climb over my husband to get out of bed in the night. The wardrobe wasn't very big, we struggled for storage space and nowhere to put our toiletries in the bathroom. There was no hot water in the morning for a wash because you had to put the hot water on for ten minutes before you needed it. We also had a problem with locking our room at night. The key you have to lock the door with - also has to be put into a slot for the lights. So we had to lock the door without any light. Breakfast was very good - nice fresh selection of meats and cheese with bread, cereals, and pies, fried egg, small sausages and bacon. We didn't really engage with the owner very much even though we were there five nights - they were very busy with a large group of walkers from the US who took over a bit with their country music playing in...
Read moreOur stay at Onar has been delightful! First of all, Tinos is a very special and lovely island, and Onar has been the perfect place to stay to explore it. It is within walking distance from the Port and to the main town. Various businesses round the corner offer rental cars and motorcycles if you want to check out the beautiful villages which are spread across the isle.
The hotel itself is a charming little complex. The studio is accommodating but very simple. Value for money is still excellent from my point of view. However, if you prefer some more luxury, the superior or deluxe category might suit you better.
The two most important highlights have been the outstanding breakfast with lots of traditional and homemade choices, and the exceptionally friendly and helpful service. Special thanks to Suzanna for giving us such a warm welcome and for making our stay at...
