HOTEL METROPOLIS — Hotel in Serres Municipality

Hotel Metropolis is the best place to stay in Serres or anywhere in Greece for that fact. I was in a tight spot when I came to Greece. I couldn't cross the Bulgarian Border because of a technicality and had to stay in Greece, not knowing the country as it was my first time here and not knowing where I was going to stay while my problem was solved and in fact not knowing when my problem would be solved. The staff here was beyond excellent in helping me with everything. Accommodations were on a day to day basis, NO PROBLEM FOR THEM. Then I stayed 10 days, NO PROBLEM. Then another 4 days, NO PROBLEM. My problem was finally resolved after a 15 day stay at Hotel Metropolis and I must say it was great, despite my situation. The staff at the front desk greeted me every morning when I went out for coffee with a handshake and a smile. Asked me about my problem. Friendly people and I truly call them friends after this. The rooms are great. A real home feeling compared to other hotels I have stayed at. The price is perfect and if you want breakfast, which I wish I had gotten, it looks great. Be sure that when you stay here at Hotel Metropolis you will not be treated as just money walking through the door. I spend a weekend at this hotel in Serres with my family of five. Three children and two adults. We need an apartment since the older children, being 17 and 15 , are treated as adults.Before we stayed in more expencive hotels in Serres but this time, since everything was booked we decided to go here. The hotel building is very old but it is clean and well kept. The suite is very good, two separate rooms with a hallway between, it is completeley refurbushed, the furniture is new, the bathroom is also very good. There is no breakfast but right down the stairs next to the hotel there is a big bakery with everything at affordable prices. There is a minibar, a safe and a hairdryer in the room. The prices for the mini bar are very affordable .There are airconditions in each room and a big flat tv screen in each room.There are no special facilities in the hotel but we very much felt like we had our own apartment in the center of the town. The staff is really very kind, they were very helpfull in finding us a parking spot each time and were allways more than just kind. Since this experience I would stay here again definetely and would not spend more money in some "fancier" hotels. Best...

Great location right in the centre of the town. Parking is a bit of a problem but that's expected given the location. We got one of the refurbished 2- room options (the hotel is an old downtown building) and it was nice and clean. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom is big enough to have some decent space. The neighborhood is noisy so windows open is not an option. There was a view of the central street and shops from the small balcony but again it's too noisy to sit outside. The place is good for a short city break and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it's not wheelchair accessible and the stairs are a bit difficult for people with disabilities.
