Just back from our 11 day vacation on Skyros island. We stayed at Lykomides Rooms a perfect choice for us situated on Linaria port. Our apartment was very comfortable, clean, organized and equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils, perfect for family stay and very convenient for easy port access. In particular we want to express our compliments to Soula owner and manager, a delightful and dedicated person, always so helpful and prompt towards all customers. Thankyou Soula for all your suggestions and for your patience in assisting us in car rental issue and round trip airport transfer. This hotel is simple hotel rooms on a working port that is probably repeated thousands of times around the world. |However the sincerity and enthusiasm by Soula and her staff accompanied by spotless rooms, that are extremely well outfitted plus a heavenly surrounding makes this place superb. |The port is on weekdays a sleepy gorgeous place that springs to life of a weekend. I prefer the weekdays. |Soula seems always to be available to assist and the views are superb. |Linaria is a much better place to stay than the town and Lykomides, whilst maybe not perfect, sure gives the definition a run. Arcipelago delle Sporadi: Skiatos? Skopellos? Alonissos? No...tutte troppo turistiche (nel senso peggiore del termine...hooligans, voli lov cost, pub e via dicendo...). Andiamo a Skyros! La più lontana dell'arcipelago (quasi ne è fuori), non sfruttata turisticamente per la presenza della base Nato, ricca di autentica tradizione e di vera Grecia, con i suoi 3.000 abitanti stanziali, i piccoli cavalli che si trovano solo qui, le baie, le spiagge e il suo mare incontaminato. Durante il picco dell'alta stagione, Skyros può ospitare non più di 8-9.000 persone e quindi l'aria da "tutto esaurito" non si respira mai. Collegata a Evia da un traghetto giornaliero e pochissimi voli da Atene e Salonicco, è stata recentemnte scoperta dai francesi che sono riusciti ad ottenere uno slot con charter settimanale da Parigi, Insomma, un'isola quasi incontaminata. Dopo circa due ore di navigazione, il ferry-boat gira un angolo e scarica il suo contenuto umano e meccanico (auto, moto e pochi camion) nel porticciolo di Livaria, un piccolo angolo di Paradiso dove si affacciano le stanze del Lycomides Rooms: fantastico. Ma non solo: perfettamente funzionale, pulito, attrezzato, confortevole. Non prevede la colazione ma mette a disposizione tutto l'occorrente per farsela da soli in camera, magari sorseggiando il caffè (vento permettendo) dal terrazzino panoramico della camera. Al costo di poche decine di Euro al giorno, e in una posizione strategica per partire alla scoperta del selvaggio sud dell'isola e del paesino di Skyros, ad est, sul lato opposto, con le sue casette bianche abbarbicate sul colle.
