So, we've stayed here before, about 12 years ago, and it hasn't changed at all. I noticed with glee Gogo G's reveiw opposite and want to offer my conclusion: The bathroom is about a quarter the size of our utility room; the double bedroom was a bit small; the breakfast was cheese, ham, bread, jams etc; and, whilst nothing to do with the Katia Hotel, the beach(es) are quite stoney. So what do I take away from this? Our utility room is probably a bit too big, in relation to the size of the bedroom - my partner and I could do probably do with losing some weight and therefore not crowd out the room so much; the breakfast would help us to achieve this if the homemade jams, fried cheese, bread etc weren't so nice. Oh, and we took some beach shoes. So, if you're looking for 5 star luxury, don't go to the Katia Hotel. If however you're looking for the real Greece, where Greeks go to get away from it all, then look no further than the Pelion and this hotel. The hotel is excellent, you've just got to chill out into it and enjoy the experience. After all, what else are...
Read moreThis was our second stay in Affisos at Hotel Katia. We visited in May, at the start of the season when the weather was excellent and the village was very quiet - perfect.||||Our room was on the fourth floor, with a lovely balcony and sea views. We've previously stayed on a lower floor, without the view - but in both cases the rooms were clean, simple and provided everything needed for a laid back holiday. The hotel has wifi.||||The greeting, from the moment we arrived, was warm; the breakfast we found varied and pleasingly local in terms of content.||||We'd recommend the restaurant in the village square, which provides simple, well cooked food of great quality; and the Oasis bar on the seafront, a great place to relax and let time go by.||||Affisos is not the place for you if manic nightlife is the priority; but as a place to thoroughly re-charge your batteries in peace, highly...
Read moreThe hotel seems very good but we were there in mid-October and the area is completely empty. Difficult to find a decent place to eat and when you do find something - there's no variety.||The host was very generous welcome. Breakfast is quite good.||We were recommended by the host a place to dinner - Marabu restaurant. It was a bad choice, at least in October. They has like 15% of the menu and food was below average.||||I just don't understand the places were the shower curtain is larger than the shower and you end up with whole toiler floor being wet. When there are parents and children have to take shower - it's quite a mess and it doesn't...
