A hotel from hell. We booked a room with lagou raxi in August 2020 for two nights as a part of our 2 week honeymoon trip to Pelion. We booked a sea view room with the hotel and communicated over 2 months in advance that we are on our honeymoon. We arrived at the hotel to check in at about 7PM and were fully charged for our stay before we were showed or let into our room. When the receptionist took us to a room, the room was far from what we have seen in the photos (literally a different room),it had two single beds (!!), the room had crazy cigarette stench, mold in the shower and the tiny balcony looked out on to another building and did not even have a partial sea view. It’s important to mention that this place charges well above the local nightly average as it’s suppose to offer a more premium experience but instead, offers a worse experience than a cheap gas station motel. When we told the receptionist this is not the room we booked and told her about all the things that were wrong, she told us our room was probably given to someone else and that since they are at full capacity at the moment and there’s nothing she can do now (we booked well over two months in advance and last time we checked booking a hotel stay is not a first come first serve kind of thing). We then spoke to the hotel owner who was incredibly rude, abrasive, not solution oriented and quite honestly just had a disgusting attitude (especially towards guests) who told us that she doesn’t deal with stuff like this and her operations manager that is on vacation and will return after we would already leave. We decided that since it’s already getting late and we didn’t really have time to look into other options, that we would stay the night and try to get to a resolution the next morning. We had to sleep on the floor with the two mattresses next to each other (see pics). The next day we spoke to the receptionist who brought us in to talk to the hotel owner again only this time, the level of rudeness and language she used crossed every possible line for us to the point that we decided that we will not stay there another minute. Right before we left, my partner asked me if we should at least have breakfast before we leave as we paid for that as well as the next night and breakfast but after looking at the line of people stacked inside with about 10-20 cm between them, wearing no masks (even though they should have complied with local restrictions and requirements to stay open during the pandemic) we decided to pack our bags immediate and leave. We had asked the hotel owner to give us a confirmation that we had returned the key and checked out a night before for liability issues and she refused to do that vigorously and told us to take up our complaints with booking.com

This business has been reported to the European consumer center as well as the local Greek ministry of tourism and quite honestly should not exist under the current management.

We loved every other place we stayed in Pelion and had amazing hospitality during the rest of our trip.

We highly recommend to stay away...

We booked a double sea view room (not partial) with a double bed for two nights for our honeymoon. When we checked in, we noticed the room is far from what we booked. No sea view, two single beds and there was a horrible stench of cigarettes in the room and mold in the shower. Completely different from the advertised photos. In addition there were no towels in the room. When we went back to the reception to understand what went wrong, the lady at the reception told us that they probably gave the room to different guests that arrived earlier, that they are now fully booked and there is nothing they can do but apologize and offer us a drink, needless to say, we were completely shocked. We ended up having to put the mattresses on the floor and sleep like you see in the pictures (on our honeymoon!!!).||||The next day, we tried to see if there is a way for us to cancel the second night as we were not ready to stay for another night in this place. We had a chat with the hotel owner that happened to be extremely rude with zero empathy who told us that she will not refund a cent and that she quite frankly doesn't really care and that she doesn't handle things like this and that her operations manager can handle it when he is back from vacation (which would have been after we already left). We were absolutely appalled by her rude behavior and unwillingness to help despite the fact that we have been extremely patient, civilized and solution oriented. We decided not to stay even for another minute (we did not even have our breakfast). We packed our bags and returned the key to the reception. When we had asked for a confirmation that we left the property today and not tomorrow as the booking states (for liability issues as we will not be using the room) the owner refused to give us any confirmation and told us that we can take our complaints with booking.com||||Both my partner and I travel a lot on business and leisure and we have never had anything close to this kind of appalling and humiliating experience as guests.||||We loved all of our hotels in Pelion and have had magical stays (we are here for over 2 weeks) and this place was just a complete disgrace compared to any other place we stayed in.||||Generally speaking,In the area, this hotel is slightly over the average price for a night and to our surprise, this was a worse experience than a cheap motel in a gas station.||Any other hotel in the area would be better than this one...

Overall disappointing service from the management, and totally unpleasant surprise when realizing the condition of the room which was nothing like the photos advertised at the time of booking.

A few of the issues we had during our stay: Cleanliness issue upon arrival (dust and dead insects on the floor and within the bed sheets). Staff reacted upon our complain showing that they don't agree with our reaction, although they agreed to reclean the room and renew the bed sheets. Water leakage - the bathroom was made for handicapped and after "renovation" the only change made was to add a brick frame on the floor for the shower which was poorly made and thus leaking. As a result the water was entering the bedroom area! According to the staff this issue was never reported previously, though the wooden door was destroyed from the water leakage after long exposure to it... We asked for a mop but wasn't provided. A towel was provided after several attempts to find a solution... The room was supposed to be a 3-bed room, where the third bed didn't have a wall socket nearby, not even for the bedside lamp which was there but not plugged and thus not functioning. According to the management staff all rooms are renovated at the same time, although that's not the case. We were given a room as explained above and compared to other we've seen, the condition was nothing alike... When explaining the above issues the staff's reaction was "what did you expect, it's a 3 star hotel..." while faking "understanding" as they typically should.

On the positive side: The location, climate, view and garden are amazing. Breakfast was delicious, also including local fresh products! Waiters and cleaning staff were really kind and helpful! Pool and bar were just OK.

Bottom line, I am definitely visiting the area again as the nature and the village still have a lot to give but certainly not selecting this place for accommodation again. Let alone the price was above average, even considering the high season prices that are normally expected. This place is in serious need of renovation...

A wonderful experience of rural Greece and its villages I had a second floor room with a beautiful view of the sea and surrounding islands. The room had a separate bathroom with shower with hot and cold water and toilet. The room overlooked the swimming pool and gardens and had excellent WiFi reception. The food was delicious and the hospitality excellent with answers and actions if needed to all your questions. The authentic Greek village is but a short 10 minute walk with beautiful indoor and outdoor cafes and restaurants. There is a museum of sculpture and traditional village square and church. All people were helpful and professional and the village has a pharmacy with excellent service and help. The hotel resides on the hill above the seaside village of Milina with excellent beach with restaurants cafes and attractions as well as hairdressers. This can be reached in approximately 40 mins on foot through olive orchards on the kalderimia foothpathes with many species of flowers and vegetation. Weather during the stay was sunny in September with temperature range from 22-28 deg C.

Lagou Raxi has a rare combination of a stunning view and great accommodations. The surrounding area of the hotel is esthetic and beautiful - the garden, pool, and balconies with a gorgeous view of the Bay! The room was clean and comfortable, and again, the view from the balcony was breathtaking. :) The staff is very nice and the food was delicious. A short walk into the village got me to the main plaza with taverns and cute local shops, a cafe, and a bakery. Very authentic and beautiful original stone paved roads and everyone I met was pleasant 😊. With this prime location, a relatively short drive in any direction can get you to different beaches and little fishing villages to enjoy the day and yummy fresh meals from the sea. I had a fabulous time here, and I highly recommend that you gift yourself this experience too!
