We have stayed in this inn twice. Although the accomodation is basic and pretty inexpensive, the rooms are very comfortable, clean, warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Most have a balcony, which offer picture-perfect views to the station and the surrounding nature. The 9-room hotel is located right next to the station of the old picturesque wooden train, which is still in use and busy in spring and summer weekends. The hotel is right in front of a ravine with huge ancient trees, and you can hear the river 24/7, which makes for an unbeatable location. The couple that runs the hotel are extremely hospitable and kind. There's a great barbecue restaurant in place, and the smells are very tempting, but we also liked to have a beer or coffee at the outdoor tables by the ravine. The breakfast is home made and very tasty indeed. If you have a car, you'll enjoy Pelion better. It is a year-round destination, and you can get from the ski center to gorgeous beaches in less than an hour. The village Milies is a great base to explore Pelion from. It takes 3,5 hours to drive there from Athens, or Thessaloniki for that matter. It has great restaurants and a couple of elegant bars, and the views to the sea is to die for. It takes a few minutes' walk to reach the center from the hotel either by footpath or the paved road, but nothing too serious. The free wi-fi was a bit weak in the 2nd floor. There's no TV in the rooms, which we didn't mind at all, but some people may want...

We spent four wonderful nights at Palios Stathmos, a beautiful family-run boutique hotel nestled among the trees just outside the traditional village of Milies. Surrounded by nature and the sound of running spring water, the hotel offers a refreshing, cool atmosphere, perfect for escaping the summer heat.
The rooms are fully renovated, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with high-quality mattresses, bedding, and spacious, spotless bathrooms. Smart tech features added a modern touch without losing the charm of the place.
The owners, Mrs. Sofia, her husband, and their son, are genuinely warm and hospitable, always eager to make your stay special. Breakfast was a daily treat, everything fresh and organic, much of it from their own garden, including eggs from their chickens.
The location next to the historic Milies train station adds to the charm. You can take the famous narrow-gauge train for a scenic ride through the lush Pelion countryside, or enjoy the many hiking trails that start near the village.
Palios Stathmos is a place where you instantly feel relaxed and welcome, a true hidden gem in Pelion. Highly recommended for families and nature...
