Makedonia Apartments — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

Arrived and was collected by employee at the bus drop off. Got Met by "owner" Mr. Nikos(sorry for misspelling it). We got redirected into our rooms fast and easy, instructions on Safetybox(included), aircon(included) and other items was given fast and easy to understand. Rooms are pretty basic but contains what i you normally see in rooms in greece. Small stove top, 1 mini heater, 1 normal heater, couple of pots and pans, 4 plates og each type, and a couple of other things for kitchenette. Think i saw a coffee machine too(did not use it). Room contains of bedroom and main room, 2 single bed(pushed together into one bed) and a couch that breaks apart into to two beds(very hard madresses). We had room number 21 which had a huge terasse, with a nice large table and 4 classic plastic chairs. Terasse is big enough to move table around for shade or sun as you like. Pools were clean and well maintained, kiddy pool has a slide, which was awsome for our 5 year old, not much fun for kids older than 5. Main pool goes from 1.2m to 3m debth and has a very small board to dive from. Area around pool and other garden areas are well maintained and the natural shade from all the trees and bushes is awsome. Small bar area, with option for buying drinks, not much food to get. Staff seems to be pleasent, Mr. Nikos tend to come accross as a grumpy old man, but i think this has more to do with us parrents NOT keeping an eye on our kids. I think he is somewhat afraid a kid will hurt them selves while running, jumping, or doing other kids stuff. If you keep track of your kids and clean up after them and talk to the staff in polite terms, i dont foresee any staff related issues. Beach is very close by 5-8 minut walk to nearest beach chair, as i write this in August of 2023 the price / beach chair is a drink i the bar. So buy minimum one drink per chair you use and you should be all good. Turns out to be about 12-18€ for 4 chairs and 2 umbrellos on the beach. This seems fair to me. Beach has very few anoying sales people, only cakes, corn on a cob and a few sunglass sales persons, so very little to desturp your peacefull days on beach. Water and beach is somewhat rocky for the first 5 m, after that its sand, but gets deep pretty fast. So best to bring beach shoes for kids and whatever else they need to stay afloat. ;) City was cool, but small. Has a couple of awsome shops(chokoland, and bakery) City is about 10 minuts walk from hotels room. City has 5 restaurants and additional 5 diffrent other eatery shops. City has 2 bucher shops, and a bunch of markets and kiosks, plus a ton of souvenier shops. Island in total was pretty, streets were well maintained by greek standards and evern pretty clean in the areas we walked around in.

Would we stay in hotel again... Absolutely, was it the best we ever tried: No needed a makeover and a few new kitchen cabinets, was it what we expected: yes, did we feel we got our monyes worth: totally.

Hotel Makedonia has it all: nice rooms with arico, fridge, two-heating plates, tv, shower and toilet... a FANTASTIC Pool (deep enough to dive into -3 meters-, and an excellent||seperate kiddie-pool with slide into it). Pool Bar for your grilled cheese sandwiches, omelettes with anything you want, ice cream galore and fresh Greec Salades with Feta and all the local trimmings. The owners are nice, friendly: Nikos is in control of the pool, his wife runs the business, and you are family. ||The hotel is 200 meters from the beach. Walk out of the Hotel grounds, tunr to the right,||cross the main street, and the beach is right there. A mix of sand, rocks and gravel. Kids playing with the stones and grit, building castles... the sea is shallow at first, and incredible clear: the way it should be. Beautiful fish right there. The odd octopus to entertain you during snorkeling. ||If you do not cross the main street, but keep walking to the right, you'll hit the 'Main Street' of Potos. It will get you to the boulevard that is dotted with great little restaurants, snackbars, mini-markets, cocktail lounges and more. If you spend 6 Euro's, you'll have a great meal of Giros (Kebab) or Souflaki with fries, salade, Tzaziki etc, ||The sunset is smashing.||Hotel Makedonia is you launching point for great access to all the fun of Potos, and even the whole of Thassos, if you rent a car (which is cheap: 150 Euros for a week, for a small car for 4 including AC).||We've been there, loved it,...

Το ξενοδοχείο είναι οτι ναναι… ειδικά ο υπάλληλος και ο ξενοδόχος… είχε λάθος στο booking τις ώρες που μπορούσαμε να μπούμε στο δωμάτιο το είχε 10:00 μέχρι 11:00μμ τον πήραμε τηλ για να το τσεκάρουμε και με απλή ερώτηση που κάναμε μας έβαλε χέρι χωρίς λόγο και μας την είπε και από πάνω ο άνθρωπος αυτός δεν ξέρει να συμπεριφέρεται και να μιλάει σωστά και μιλάει συνεχώς επιθετικά…. Πήγανε οικογενειακώς με παιδιά δυο μέρες μας χάλασαν το μεσημέρι μας επειδή δεν είχαν φροντίσει το κλιματιστικό από την πρώτη μέρα είχαμε θέμα με το ρεύμα μας έπεφτε το γενικό ρεύμα και επειδή είχαμε θέμα ήταν και βράδυ και δεν γινόταν να το αφήσουμε έτσι γιατί μπορεί τα παιδιά να θελανε τουαλέτα το οτιδήποτε και δεν γινόταν να μην έχει φως… πήγαμε χτυπήσαμε τον ξενοδόχο και γυρνάει και μας την λέει γιατί τον χτυπάμε βραδιάτικα… και δύο μέρες μας χάλασαν το μεσημέρι για να φτιάξουν. Το κλιματιστικό και αναγκαστικά Πηγαίναμε στην πισίνα. Εγώ με τον άνδρα μου πίναμε τσίπουρο και επειδή μας διέκοψαν πήραμε το τσίπουρο μαζί μας στην πισίνα και μας έκαναν παρατήρηση για το τσίπουρο ότι απαγορεύεται ενώ δεν έγραφε πουθενά για ποτό αλλά για το ότι απαγορεύεται το φαγητό… μας κάνανε παρατήρηση που τα παιδιά μια στο τόσο κάνανε βουτιές και ότι δεν επιτρέπεται τα παιδιά να πάνε στα βαθιά και τον είπαμε ότι τα παιδιά ξέρουν πολύ καλό κολύμπι και ότι τα βλέπουμε και ότι σε καμία περίπτωση δεν τα αφήνουμε από τα μάτια μας …. Βάλαμε μια μέρα στο ηχείο μουσική γιατί δεν είχε.. αλλά και δεν ακούγονταν πολυ και μας έκανε ο υπάλληλος παρατήρηση ότι είναι οικογενειακό ξενοδοχείο και ότι δεν επιτρέπεται.. είπαμε οκ και το κλείσαμε…. Χθες ηταν η τελευταία μας μέρα στο ξενοδοχείο. Και πήγαμε στην πισίνα και είναι μια οικογένεια ξένοι και βάλανε αυτοί στο ηχείο μουσική… ούτε παρατήρηση για το ηχείο ούτε για τις βουτιές που κάνανε συνέχεια ούτε τίποτα απολύτως….. τον πιάσαμε τον υπάλληλο και τον λέμε γιατί δεν κάνει παρατήρηση σε αυτούς και ότι μόνο σε εμάς κάνανε παρατήσεις για τα πάντα μόνο για το ότι αναπνέαμε δεν μας έκαναν παρατήρηση…. Μας χάλασαν τις διακοπές και μας απειλούσαν και από πάνω… είναι ρατσιστές φροντίζουν τους ξένους και τους έλληνες τους γράφουν εκεί που ξέρουν…. Πληρώσαμε ένα σκασμό λεφτά για να μας χαλάσουν δυο μέρες το μεσημέρι και γενικά τις διακοπές μας… αυτό το πράγμα δεν το έχουμε ξανά δει σε άλλα νησιά και ξενοδοχεία…. Δεν αξίζει καθόλου αυτό το...
