Aiges Melathron — Hotel in Veria Municipality

Let me just say that we LOVE this hotel!! What makes it so exceptional is the amazing people they have working there. I can not say enough good things. We stay here for a week every year from Chicago when visiting family in Veria. Our daughter loves that they always remember her and she also loves the beautiful pool. Each morning we have breakfast and sit outside overlooking the pool and the view is beautiful. Plus they make an excellent Fredo Cappucino! They are always so welcoming to us and we actually look forward to seeing everyone each year. I can honestly say we will never stay anywhere else when coming to Veria. We typically stay a month in Greece traveling around to 5 star luxury resorts but none of them have such wonderful people as they Aiges Melathron. They deserve 5...

Obviously timeworn furniture and rooms. The rooms are poor in decoration and they certainly need an update. This was a fabulous hotel when opened some 20 years ago. No it looks like a shadow of what it was as it has not been updated. it lacks professionalism, I mean you call to ask for prices to make a reservation, they cannot respond. You actually have to send an email and wait until the ''responsible'' gets back to you. It is a nightmare! Breakfast was rather poor and we were told at the bar that we would have to wait 2 hours to get served because there was only one guy working on a Saturday night with wedding in the premises. The mature lady that works at reception is really nice, kind and helpful. I would not recommend this hotel. The city has a lot more to offer than that...

We had a very pleasant stay at the Aiges Melathron. It was a perfect base from which to do day trips in the surrounding area.

It is an old hotel. Touches of renovation and haphazard refurbishing were visible here and there, but it could really benefit from a total do-over. However, this did not in any way affect our comfort or inconvenience us and it actually gave the place a bit of character. Breakfast and restaurant food is mediocre.

The strong points are the beautiful pool, the lovely outdoor eating area overlooking the pool and - especially! - the really, really nice staff that did their utmost to accommodate us. Thank you Amalia, thank you Katherina and Katherina! Would love to be back someday.More
