Makedonia Hotel — Hotel in Veria Municipality

I’m not sure why this place has some great reviews. I’m guessing bc they are from 2019 and things have changed. I picked this hotel due to its reviews so I feel that I should provide an update. ||You should know that I’m not a high maintenance traveler. I need a place that is clean and safe. ||Beds- uncomfortable. If you have any back issues, I would find another place. I don’t have back issues and still felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The sheets are paper thin. ||Safety- the area and hotel itself feels very safe. Although the person at the front desk shared the list of guests and their room numbers when I asked if someone had checked in…In the room, there is NO way you lock your door from the inside. If you decide to stay here, I suggest you bring your own lock. Also, the door frame actually came off of the door at one point. ||Bathroom- Did not feel clean. The shower leaked profusely and you didn’t have any space to move around. If you have ever been on a cruise, the shower area is smaller than a cruise ship! If you want to stay here, pack Lysol wipes and flip flops so you don’t get a fungus. ||Breakfast- not fresh and seemed to just sit there . My favorite item was the bread. Breakfast staff wasn’t very friendly . Veria is full of amazing places to eat. I would skip this continental breakfast and head into town. | |Price- wow, the place is very cheap! If you are on a very tight budget, and don’t mind staying at a place that feels dirty, this place maybe an option for you. In my case, I checked out right away, and into another...

I arrived with 2 elderly women and 3 kids after driving for almost 6 hours....I was trying to understand where the parking is when I saw a man on uniform(hotel uniform)looking at me angry that i was parking without asking...well I guess it was difficult to think that I might be a client using a car rental!|Anyway we walk in to the reception and asked if there's a bell boy or if anyone could assist me carrying the luggage...The answer i got was quite similar to the look i got when I parked..sooooooooo rude and angry out of nowhere."Why should we,this|Is not a five star hotel,we don't have to do this,get them yourself"!!!!!!|That was it for me,right there...after all this long day I had to deal with this unprofessional behavior and rudeness!Of course i asked to speak to the manager but he said "NO,we can't bother him now,he is nowhere to be found"....No need to go into more details,we had to leave,I got furious!|I've been traveling literally Around the World and I've never met anyone worse than him,kicking the Costomer With Reservation OUT!|No need to say that on top of that I got charged for 1 night for 2 rooms!!!!|I never got the chance to evaluate the hotel environment but after all this unacceptable attitude I don't ever want to!|Good luck to whoever...

When you arrive and they treat you nicely you then realize that you will have a good stay.We arrived early evening, the Gentleman at reception was very friendly and professional, he indicated a parking space belonging to the Hotel property for us to park without charge. Then he gave us room 56 in the 5th floor, a good size room which looked newly decorated and well maintained with a King size bed and good mattress which enabled us to have a good night sleep.||A good size bathroom and with all the amenities in place, a flat TV screen and WiFi which all worked fine. Air Con also worked OK but an opened window it is always the best choice for us.Morning coffee, good cappuccino prepared by the lady of the breakfast room and later a good breakfast buffet waited for us with a variety of things to enjoy. Overall a good night stay in a Hotel so near to the city of Veria and so handy to reach Egnatia Motorway. ||We had a smooth "check out" and the gentleman at reception was quite friendly and always with a good word to say.||Veria is a city near Vergina and close to Thessaloniki ,Makedonia is good Hotel and a well chosen name which is worth staying if you are...
