4 star hotel?...Huge dissapointment! We were 2 adults and a 5 years old kid. Even though we paid for a room with 3 beds to the travel agency ELECTRA TOURS ( Through INVIA TRAVEL AGENCY) we got a room just with two single beds.We went to ask to the "reception" if they could change us a room as we paid for...Unfortunatelly they gave us a wet room in a basement, with no wi-fi signal.I guess non of rooms in a basement have wi-fi signal???How can the owner offer those horrible wet rooms in a basement to her guests?!This is incredible!!Rooms were cleaned just ones a week. For the first time I could see no shampoo,no shower gel, nothing...just tiny peace of soap in the bathroom.Towels were changed also just once a week!...Food is another chapter...basicly the very same food every day...you can choose between two meals in lunch time. But again we had also problem with food we paid!We paid for all incusive light but the ELECTRA TOURS made a mistake and got us half board food incuded... this was solved out second day...The only possitive experience was the staff in a hotel. Just few people, nice and friendly, working every sigle day from sunday to sunday. Beaches and sea are pretty dirty as well as the close area to the hotel. You have to walk further to see a bit more clean beaches. This holiday wasn't definitelly worth it for the money we paied at all!My first and definitelly the very last experience with...
Read moreThe rooms were decent - though once a week cleaning was too little. Food reasonable though not stellar and somewhat repetitive. Rooms clean. Decent sized. Staff generally friendly but not over the top. Hotel pool is small but a good respite at the end of the day or if the kids are bouncing off the walls and need a quick dip. ||||For the price, good value. Friendly toward families. So good place if you want a mid-level hotel holiday in Stavros for your family. ||||Few comments:||||1) the bar doesn’t accept credit cards (sort of usual for Greece - no one here likes accounting paper trail). So keep close track of your bar bill and bring plenty of Euros with you. There are ATMs in town but the bank charges and exchange rates are absurd. ||||2) the beaches within walking distance are really not attractive. Very dirty water and very crowded. So count on taking a taxi down the coast sometimes for better beach and water. ||||3) the price gap for small stuff (ice creams, juice for kids, beer, etc) between the Hotel bar and the local markets is massive. So strongly suggest buying some of these items at the markets in walking distance and then storing in the (sizable) refrigerators in the room. Can’t consume them at the bar (against Hotel rules, logically) but for incidentals in the room, good...
Read more“Electra Hotel” is situated in the northern end of Stavros on the foot of the north-east slopes of Mountain Stratoniko. Despite of the fact that the hotel isn’t very close to the beach (around 15 min on foot) its position is very convenient for the tourists that prefer calmness and silence. The hotel offers to the guests wide and clean rooms with balcony and all conveniences for one pleasant sojourn. There is beautiful inner courtyard with olive tree and other typical Greek plants. The outer courtyard of the hotel offers enough spacious area for relax with swimming pool, BBQ and garden furniture for coffee drinking. In the morning the guests could enjoy to reach breakfast with different cheeses and sausages, fresh vegetables and fruits, and of course Greek sweets. Beside during summer vacation the hotel could be very convenient during all seasons as starting point for trip to the landmarks of the surrounding area including to Mount Athos because the two harbors which propose a ship-transport to it aren’t very far off - Ierisos (47 km.) and...
