Foris House — Hotel in Zagori Municipality

Stayed here as part of a self guided tour of the area and was amazing to have this place to relax in after hiking the Vikos gorge. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, checked in to make sure I had everything I needed, and ensured every necessity was provided for. I had a great dinner at their restaurant Tsoumanis just up the road and they brought me a fantastic breakfast at the patio just outside the room in the morning at a time of my choosing with many different options and even gave me some delicious homemade cheese pie and extra water for the road for my hike that day. The view is stunning especially when the sun sets and it's very private and peaceful, I sat in the hammock chair and read all afternoon. A wonderful small property that is managed by the sweetest couple. They also own a small tavern 100m from this accommodation. |In their rooms, there is everything you need. We had daily cleaning service that included clean towels. Their rooms are decorated with local rustic furniture, there are beautiful wooden ceilings there is a fireplace, ready to use.There is Autonomous heating system and and also Airconditioning. It's possible to sit also outside to enjoy the view. The bathroom is spacious and has a shower cabin. A Nespresso machine is available, plus utensils for tea/coffee and a mini fridge. The village is at the starting point to hike the famous Vikos gorge and, there is a beautiful spot with panoramic views. Staying here gives access also to villages of the other areas of Zagori. Walked the Vikos Gorge from Monodendri with a long climb at the end of the day up to the tiny village of Vikos. There to greet us was Foris House, a small bar and restaurant. We stayed in their apartment, a short walk from the restaurant. Lovely room opening onto a small terrace with a fabulous view and the sunset. The only hotel to offer a kettle in the bedroom. Comfortable bed, with woodburning stove for colder nights. Excellent home cooked pork stew for supper and a delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and ham and cheese melted on toast with egg.
