The property is nice, the views are amazing, the locals were kind and even helped us find the place as it was very difficult to find, but it was sadly a very terrible experience. I hope that for future guests better accommodations are made. We arrived, and out of the owners control the wifi was out, however we soon discovered nightmare after nightmare following that. The toilets would not flush, the showers shut off on us, we had to call someone in the middle of our shower to put the water back on. After eating the food my friend got very ill, with food poisoning she barely got to even rest. After leaving a review on another site the owner then harassed us and claimed we were making lies when that was not at all true and told us to “leave his property” because we tried to inform guests of the conditions of this place. If he was more accommodating when he found out that we kept having one bad thing happen after the other, we would be much more understanding, but he didn’t even offer any partial refund after all that unfolded and only offered free breakfast which we didn’t want to eat because of the food poisoning my friend got. We had to leave as soon as the sun came out because we just did not feel comfortable anymore....

You have to pay for your parking separate! We were not warned that it was the town fair that day and we hardly slept because of the loud ruckus most of the night. There are bad neighbors! Some young fellows came and took our camera from my two daughters in broad daylight. Food is very expensive from the kitchen at the cabin! Rooms were clean but not very private. Windows with out curtains, big cracks in the bathroom door, a shower room with a tin laying on top right by the stairs... Dock is nice, not real clean on the shore. We picked a lot of trash out of the water around the dock. Overall we...
Read moreWe absolutely loved staying at the cabañas. The are beautifully designed cabañas with big rooms and creative touches throughout the property. The gardens are lovely and well maintained. Antonia who looks after the guests and property was very helpful with all of our questions or requests, and she cooks lovely meals if you want to eat there. Just a little off the lake with a private pier, but we really enjoyed relaxing in the gardens. The village of Tzununa gave us an insight into real life in this part of Guatemala, which was great to escape the tourist swamped parts of the lake. Would love to come back...
