Casa Awänímä – a place where you can relax, unwind, and feel truly at peace with nature.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay with McKenzie and Cheyo. Both hosts are incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure their guests feel comfortable and welcome. Their hospitality made us feel at home from the very first moment. The welcome we received from Cheyo was the warmest we’ve ever had – such a heartfelt greeting is unforgettable.

The entire accommodation is furnished with so much love and attention to detail that you immediately feel at ease and relaxed. Every room exudes charm and warmth, and nothing is missing – everything is perfectly thought out and almost flawless. This is undoubtedly one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at.

A true highlight is the stunning garden, filled with fruit trees, herbs, and flowers. The hosts provided us with fresh fruit and delicious eggs, which enriched our stay even further. It was a joy to enjoy these fresh products and experience the peacefulness of nature. The breakfast was also very tasty and reasonably priced, which made our stay even more perfect.

The kitchen was very clean, wonderfully equipped, and so inviting that we loved cooking there. Everything you need can be found nearby – a perfect combination of comfort and convenience.

The view is simply beautiful – a place that delights both the eyes and the soul. McKenzie and Cheyo have truly created a haven, and you can feel the passion they have for this special place. Everything comes from the heart, and that’s exactly what makes this place so unique.

Additionally, McKenzie and Cheyo are always available to help and attend to their guests’ needs immediately. You always feel well taken care of and supported.

It was incredibly hard for us to leave this special place. It’s so wonderful to know that there are people like McKenzie and Cheyo who have made this place such a beautiful spot with so much love and dedication.

Thank you for this unforgettable experience – we wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation and would gladly...

I was in the first Awanima immersion group led by Kenzie and her team in the beautiful highlands of Guatemala.

The immersion was a truly unique and eye-opening experience in community living, permaculture, and so much more.

I was so inspired by Kenzie’s passion and dedication to creating a space to connect, learn, and grow together, and I hope to integrate many of those core values and practices into my own daily life and future projects.

Kenzie, her team, and everyone in the group quickly felt like family as we had ample opportunities to bond over shared family meals, tending of the land, learning together in workshops, game nights, music, and temazcal, cacao, and fire ceremonies. We were so fortunate to have Cheyo share his Mayan culture and traditions with us and to help us cultivate a deeper level of connection and appreciation for the land and local community.

I was searching for an opportunity to not only connect with others who shared similar values but to also connect with myself and the earth on a deeper level; I found that opportunity my very first morning there when I awoke at dawn to watch the sun rise over the lake and volcanoes from the deck off of my room. It turned into my favorite morning routine (I’ve always been a night owl!) as I would sit in quiet reflection or practice morning yoga.

Thank you Kenzie, Frankie, Andy, Kelcie, and Nata for being amazing hosts and teachers, I really loved connecting and getting to know you all!

Sending lots...

Are you interested in having these incredible sunrise views every morning while drinking fabulous local coffee and eating eggs from chickens on the property? Are you seeking a tranquil place to disconnect from the every day hustle and bustle and truly connect to nature? Are you seeking one of the most healing and soul filling places on earth? Then Casa Awänímä is where you must stay in Lake Atitilan. My girlfriend and I spent 5 blissful nights here last week and we cannot wait to return. Kenzie was an incredible host and has built a truly magical farm. Cheyo was there for us every step of the way to explain the history of the region and everything having to do with Awanima and the surrounding areas. I cannot recommend enough his traditional Mayan sauna ceremony. Do yourself a favor and book at least a week here asap. You will not regret it. Thank you to the entire team at Casa Awanima for a vacation we will never forget. We cannot...

Casa Awänímä is a true oasis of peace, a slice of heaven. The moment you step onto the land, you can feel the peace and love of the place. The beauty of the surroundings is unreal—lush, vibrant, and alive Kenzie and Cheyo have lovingly cared for the land, creating a welcoming and inspiring sanctuary. Evenings by the fire, under a blanket of stars, sharing stories, are moments that stay with you forever. The temazcal ceremony was deeply moving, offering a unique opportunity to connect with oneself and the sacred traditions of the land and Mayan culture, thank you Cheyo :) The meals aren’t just delicious—they’re nourishing and prepared with so much love. Maria and Sandra bring warmth and sunshine into the café, making every encounter a joy. Casa Awänímä isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a little piece of paradise that touches your heart. I’m already dreaming of going back. PS : I stayed in Leo's room.
